You guys have some incredible insight on my last post. It sounds like so many of you have taken a huge leap of faith in the past to pursue something you knew was right for you. Good for you all!
Today, we closed out this wonderful month of July on a bang. We made plans a few weeks ago to go to Philly to see a game with our friends and couldn't have been more excited when we woke up this morning.
Our friends were going to be at our house early, so I made a quick Sunday Breakfast.
1/2 Great Grain Bagel with Sunflower Nut Butter, mashed banana, Granola
Fruit with yogurt and iced coffee
We hit the road by 10:00 and arrived in Philly around noon. By the time we got there, we knew it was going to be a scorcher and could literally see the heat in the air.
Didn't stop us from doing a bit of tailgating though….
For being 106*, the park was packed. We had great seats but sadly, they were no where near shade.
I had a perfect view of my future husband….
You might know him. His name is Chase Utley and he is fine.
We started to get pretty hungry early into the game. I knew exactly what I would be eating….
Planet Hoagie makes the very best vegetarian sub. It's full of broccoli rabe, roasted red peppers and grilled eggplant.
Citizen Bank Park also has some great vegan options but I can never seem to bring myself to stray away from these hoagies. I look forward to them every year.
We made it up until the 9th inning and then all decided we couldn't take the heat any longer. When we left, it was tied and the Phillies actually ended up winning in extra innings. Go Phillies…I smell another World Series in our future.
By the time we got home, I was actually pretty hungry for dinner.
Both Toly and I had a craving for big salads for dinner and all I wanted in mine was a bunch of amazing fruit.
This was one of the best salads I've ever had. Grilled peaches, pineapple, asparagus, strawberries, kiwi, blueberries, dried cherries, sesame cashews, cucumber and goat cheese in a raspberry balsamic.
Toly commented on my dinner by saying, "Wow, you just pulled that together in a few minutes, that looks amazing." Yeah, that's how I roll.
Tomorrow not only starts a brand new week, it also begins a brand new month. I'm sad to say goodbye to July because that just means it's one step closer to the end of summer but I am looking forward to all of the incredible things I have planned for August.
What is one thing you are looking forward to in August? I can't wait for our vacation to Napa. Oh and the HLS is going to kick ass!
