This is going to be one of those random yet entertaining posts where I really don't have anything profound to talk about but I'll still talk just because I can.
Breakfast
1/4 C Kashi Go Island Vanilla, 1/4 C Natures Path Multigrain Flakes, Banana, Berries, Crumbled Lemon Spelt Poppyseed Muffin Piece, hemp seeds
My friend and I decided to grab lunch today at one of our favorite spots…Cafe Magnolia.
Lunch
I almost always get the veggie wrap here because it's one of my favorites, but when the waitress explained the special, I became intrigued. The original contained ham, roasted butternut squash, spread, tomato, spinach and almonds. I asked if I could sub black bean hummus for the ham and turned it into one of the best veggie wraps I've ever had.
It was a brilliant idea. The butternut squash and black bean hummus were a match made in heaven. I think I should start coming up with these sandwich specials. ;)
After work, I came home and got ready to go out for a run. I typically don't run in the evenings, but tonight, my company was a part of a one mile race in the city. It's a big event that we do every year to raise money for a good cause.
I wanted to eat something before hand but nothing too heavy. I stuck with my usual pre-race meal.
Dinner
WW English Muffin with Sunflower Seed Butter, Mashed Banana, 1/2 with Jam and Granola, 1/2 with Chocolate Covered Sunflower Seeds
I also downed a few glasses of water. The heat index was almost unbearable today so I knew I needed to be well hydrated, even for this mile.
The race was fun and I ended up coming in at 7:32 but I have to say, I was gasping to breath at the end because it was just so hot. It was the first time I ever dry heaved after a race. I think sprinting in a heat wave does that to you.
Hope you all enjoyed the day!
