My goodness, another weekend crossed off the summer list.
Dear summer,
Please SLOW DOWN!!!!
I never want to say goodbye to the endless bowls of fruity confections….
This was eaten on Saturday morning before a 2 hour gym session. Along with a Cinnamon Raisin Ezikle with Almond Butter, mashed banana, touch of granola and hemp seeds.
Spin was incredible and completely restored my faith in wanting to go for my certification. Still not 100% but I'm nearly there.
After 2 hours at the gym, 3 hours shopping, I came home starving.
Lunch was a big salad of veggies, hummus, feta, and sundried tomatoes. I am loving this combo lately.
Later that afternoon, we celebrate a very special little girl's first birthday….
Our niece, Abby turned one and we celebrated her special day with Toly's family all weekend.
Toly's family was in town from Ohio so we spent the rest of the night partying with them. It's always a blast when we get to spend time with them.
This morning, all I could think about was eating fruit for breakfast. To make it more of a breakfast, I added some raw oats, Chobani, granola and sunflower seed butter.
When Toly woke up, he surprised me with kisses and lotto cards….
As much as I would love for him to wake up every morning with scratch offs, there was a reason behind this. Today is our 8 year anniversary! We still celebrate our dating anniversary and I think we always will. Truthfully, any reason to get dressed up and go out for a good meal is reason enough for me, but a few years ago, we started a tradition of celebrating at The Melting Pot and we've been doing it ever since. It's really a fantastic tradition.
I wanted to keep things on the lighter side for lunch since we had an early dinner reservation.

What I wore….

If you've never been to The Melting Pot, you're missing out. It's not really the fact that the food is good, it's more the experience that drawls us in. Oh and the chocolate.
I started with a glass of Zin.
And then things got steamy….
Our meals started with salad. I had the California Salad which consisted of tomatoes, walnuts, blue cheese in a blackberry vinaigrette.
99% of the time, I go for the Vegetarian entree, but tonight, Toly convinced me to go with the Seafood. I usually don't listen to him on decisions like this, but tonight I did and dare I say I was glad I did.
The seafood was awesome but the salmon was by far my favorite. Sushi grade cedar plank salmon, oh yes.
Now, back to this chocolate. Cooking your own food is fun, but dipping a plate full of confection into melted dark carmel salted chocolate is euphoric. If you skip this step, you are absurd!
Per usual, we left feeling more in love and more stuffed than we ever could imagine.
In all, a great weekend.
How was yours?
