Hot BBQ's and a Sunny Giveaway!!

It's hot, it's steamy, it's sunny, it's humid and I absolutely love it!

I know most people can't take this type of weather, but in all honesty, I adore it.  I feel these summer months go by so fast where as the winter months just seem to creep along miserably, so there is no way you will find me sitting inside escaping the sun.  I'm not wasting a moment that I don't have to of this beautiful season.

After 4 days of waking up without an alarm, it was a bit tough to get out of bed this morning at 4am, but I managed and also managed 10 miles.  I had a few days off of running so my legs were fresh and felt good.

Breakfast

1/4 C Kashi H2H, 1/4 C Kashi Honey Sunshine, Berries, Banana, Granola, Almond Milk

I bought 4 pints of strawberries (BOGO special) yesterday and they are already half gone.  There is no limits with me when it comes to fruit, especially this time of year.

It was going to be "shorts and tank top" weather, as the weatherman put it this morning, so I dressed accordingly.

Can someone please tell me how its possible to take a picture of yourself without cutting off your head? I have obviously not figured it out….

I came home for lunch and was quite pleased to see a big package on my doorstep.  What was inside??

After testing out various protein powders for a month now, I've finally buckled down and committed to one.  Funny thing is, I never even tried Sun Warrior before, but after reading the incredible health benefits and how easily digestible it is, I figured it would be the best option for me. It's 100% Raw Vegan and 83% Pure Protein using vegetable protein with the highest net protein content that a vegetable protein can offer. Also, I've heard good reviews on the taste so I had a good feeling I wouldn't hate it.

Lunch

The first thing I did was whip out my blender in order to use the powder.

Strawberries, Banana, Peach, 1 Scoop Sun Warrior, Almond Milk, Ice

Okay, I can not lie, initially, I though that this tasted a bit like Pepto Bismol.  The powder was a tad chalky and not as sweet as I was expecting.  But after a few sips, I became acquired to the taste and actually started to enjoy it.

I guess protein powder is like wine…appreciated the more you drink it.

Along with my smoothie, I ate a big wonderful salad.

Romaine, Cucumber, Tomatoes, Radish, Leftover Pasta Salad, Hummus, Broccoli

When I got off work, I had my behind handed to me once again with Insanity.  Today it was Plyometrics which is one of those workouts that I hate so much I love.

I was completely drenched and spent afterwards not to mention starving.

Dinner

Toly has been talking all weekend that he never got to enjoy a good burger over the Memorial Day weekend.  We made burgers at our party but he never got a chance to actually eat one.

To satisfy his request, I made a good old fashion burger meal.

I branched out and finally bought a new veggie burger.

These Amy's Bistro burgers are Gluten Free. The Bistro Burger includes brown rice, mushrooms, tofu and beans and tastes delicious!

I ate mine traditional style with lettuce, tomato, avocado, ketchup and mustard.

We also had grilled corn and fruit salad.  Such a traditional BBQ dinner and it was perfect.

Something was still missing though…..

Beer was the missing link!  This Michaelob Ultra Dragon Fruit Peach is the ONLY beer I will drink.  I'm trying to get more into beer but with small advancements.

Okay, now for the exciting news!

You have a chance to try Sun Warrior Protein Powder for yourself!

One lucky winner will receive a bag of the Chocolate Protein Powder.  All you have to do is a leave a comment on this post and I will choose a winner Friday, June 6th.

Good luck!!!
