Do You Keurig?

Hello all!  Happy Tuesday.

I don't know about you, but this week has been moving right along for me.  It's been busy but in a good way.  Oh, and I have off on Thursday this week (for Veterans Day) which is such a nice treat!

This morning, I tried something I've been wanting to try to ages now.  Keurig!

My parents have one but never really use it.  (They are not coffee drinkers)  I found it last night and pulled it out for my morning routine.

Previously, I've been drinking instant.  I know I know, who the heck drinks instant anymore?  But I only ever make one cup each day and the instant seemed to be the most practical choice.  Plus, I think I just grew accustomed to the taste.

Well this morning, the Kuerig process was fantastic.  Truth be told, I never really understood how they worked until today.  It's simple and completely functional for the single cup.  I loved having fresh brewed coffee ready in mere seconds.  Think I'll need to put one of these babies on my Christmas list.

To go with my fresh brewed coffee, I enjoyed a bowl of….

Overnight Chocolate Covered Strawberry Oats

Last Night: 1/4 Cup Scottish Oats, 1 tsp Chia, Flax, Dark Coco Powder, 1/2 Mashed Banana, Strawberry Banana Chobani
This Morning: Strawberries, 1/2 Banana, Granola, Dark Chocolate Almond Butter

And that is what I like to call a fantastic breakfast.  Chocolate + Strawberries = LOVE!

I was in CPR/First Aid Training all day at work today.  How convenient that my work offered this training right after I got my Primary Fitness Instructor Certification.  The next step was to get my CPR certification which I completed today.   Even if I didn't need it to teach, I still wanted to have this regardless.  Such a good thing to be trained in!

When I got off, I hit the gym.  My legs were feeling a bit sore so I took it easy on my hills tonight.

5 min @ 6.3   (warm up)
5 min @ 6.5   1% incline
5 min @ 6.8   0% incline
5 min @ 7.0   1% incline
5 min @ 7.5   0% incline
5 min @ 7.3   1% incline
5 min @ 8.0 - 9.0 (sprints)
Total- 4 miles in 35 min

Still tough!  I hate hills but I do love how fast the time goes during these workouts.

When I got home, my mom had dinner ready.  (Oh how I will miss this)

Baked Pecan Tilapia with Sweet Potato and Asparagus

So very good! Thanks mom! :)

I'm going to try to get to bed early tonight.  Sleep and me have not been on such great terms lately.  I've been having a hard time falling asleep each night.  Could be stress.  Could be that it takes my body a good 15 min to warm up because our room downstairs is freeeeezzzzinnnggg.  Either way, I need to do something about it soon because I almost feel asleep today in training.

Good Night My Friends!!

  2. I love the Keurig! If I lived by myself or the husband didn't drink coffee, I'd totally get one... or not, because I drink about 3 cups every morning! :)

  7. I love Keurig! I have a machine and I am obsessed with it. I love being able to make coffee in an instant. If love pumpkin as much as I do, you should totally try Green Mountain Pumpkin Spice K-cups. They are for the Keurig machine. It's my favorite coffee! :)

  9. I don't have a keurig, but it does seem convenient for just one cup or if just one person likes coffee.

  10. I have something like the Keurig, it makes fancy expresso drinks and such, I paid like $80 for it and I think it's already paid for itself like 3x over with the money I save in not hitting Starbucks 2x a day haha!

I know what you mean about getting warm to sleep, I cannot fall asleep when I'm chilly either and my fiance likes the house pretty cool so it takes a few extra blankets and some rustly around before I can doze off. Hope you get a good sleep my dear :)

  12. Isn't it lovely having dinner ready for you when you get home...especially a dinner made by your mom (and it looks so very good!) I have never used a keurig before, but I've heard good things. Thank you for sharing. I hope your day is full of a lot laughter and joy!
