Do You Keurig?

Hello all!  Happy Tuesday.

I don't know about you, but this week has been moving right along for me.  It's been busy but in a good way.  Oh, and I have off on Thursday this week (for Veterans Day) which is such a nice treat!

This morning, I tried something I've been wanting to try to ages now.  Keurig!

My parents have one but never really use it.  (They are not coffee drinkers)  I found it last night and pulled it out for my morning routine.

Previously, I've been drinking instant.  I know I know, who the heck drinks instant anymore?  But I only ever make one cup each day and the instant seemed to be the most practical choice.  Plus, I think I just grew accustomed to the taste.

Well this morning, the Kuerig process was fantastic.  Truth be told, I never really understood how they worked until today.  It's simple and completely functional for the single cup.  I loved having fresh brewed coffee ready in mere seconds.  Think I'll need to put one of these babies on my Christmas list.

To go with my fresh brewed coffee, I enjoyed a bowl of….

Overnight Chocolate Covered Strawberry Oats

Last Night: 1/4 Cup Scottish Oats, 1 tsp Chia, Flax, Dark Coco Powder, 1/2 Mashed Banana, Strawberry Banana Chobani
This Morning: Strawberries, 1/2 Banana, Granola, Dark Chocolate Almond Butter

And that is what I like to call a fantastic breakfast.  Chocolate + Strawberries = LOVE!

I was in CPR/First Aid Training all day at work today.  How convenient that my work offered this training right after I got my Primary Fitness Instructor Certification.  The next step was to get my CPR certification which I completed today.   Even if I didn't need it to teach, I still wanted to have this regardless.  Such a good thing to be trained in!

When I got off, I hit the gym.  My legs were feeling a bit sore so I took it easy on my hills tonight.

5 min @ 6.3   (warm up)
5 min @ 6.5   1% incline
5 min @ 6.8   0% incline
5 min @ 7.0   1% incline
5 min @ 7.5   0% incline
5 min @ 7.3   1% incline
5 min @ 8.0 - 9.0 (sprints)
Total- 4 miles in 35 min

Still tough!  I hate hills but I do love how fast the time goes during these workouts.

When I got home, my mom had dinner ready.  (Oh how I will miss this)

Baked Pecan Tilapia with Sweet Potato and Asparagus

So very good! Thanks mom! :)

I'm going to try to get to bed early tonight.  Sleep and me have not been on such great terms lately.  I've been having a hard time falling asleep each night.  Could be stress.  Could be that it takes my body a good 15 min to warm up because our room downstairs is freeeeezzzzinnnggg.  Either way, I need to do something about it soon because I almost feel asleep today in training.

Good Night My Friends!!

  1. We have one of those Keurigs- I like it when I want a quick cup! Glad you enjoyed it as well. This week totally has been blasting by! Hooray for getting CPR certified! Have you thought any more about what you want to teach? I'm so excited for you. mmm I want a baked sweet potato.

  2. I love the Keurig! If I lived by myself or the husband didn't drink coffee, I'd totally get one... or not, because I drink about 3 cups every morning! :)

  3. I love my Keurig! I actually have a Keurig, a regular coffee maker and a french press. My name's Emily and I'm a coffee addict.

  4. My dad still drinks instant coffee- he prefers it to drip, actually!! Weirdo :) He's very particular about his brand though!

  5. My parents have a Keurig and I love it! My husband and I don't have one (we just have a coffee maker) but I reallly want one. :-)

  6. I know I say this all the time, but you have the BEST breakfasts!!!! I have been having a really hard time falling asleep at night, I hate just laying there. Have a great day :)

  7. I love Keurig! I have a machine and I am obsessed with it. I love being able to make coffee in an instant. If love pumpkin as much as I do, you should totally try Green Mountain Pumpkin Spice K-cups. They are for the Keurig machine. It's my favorite coffee! :)

  8. Girl get a heating blanket and some flannel sheets for your bed. They are amazing! :D

  9. I don't have a keurig, but it does seem convenient for just one cup or if just one person likes coffee.

  10. I have something like the Keurig, it makes fancy expresso drinks and such, I paid like $80 for it and I think it's already paid for itself like 3x over with the money I save in not hitting Starbucks 2x a day haha!

I know what you mean about getting warm to sleep, I cannot fall asleep when I'm chilly either and my fiance likes the house pretty cool so it takes a few extra blankets and some rustly around before I can doze off. Hope you get a good sleep my dear :)

  11. I <3 our Keurig! I used to use it all the time. Coffee has been tasting funny to me lately though? Not sure what's up... :) I love the Green Mountain Pumpkin Spice! xo.

  12. Isn't it lovely having dinner ready for you when you get home...especially a dinner made by your mom (and it looks so very good!) I have never used a keurig before, but I've heard good things. Thank you for sharing. I hope your day is full of a lot laughter and joy!

  13. Aaah! You're just like my daddy, drinking instant...though in my dad's case, he actually LIKES instant more than brewed...crazy! I should buy him a keurig and see what he says! ;-)

  14. abe really wants one of those machines! we don't have room on the counter anymore, though!
