Last night, I popped a few pills (Antibiotics and Vicoden) and it knocked me OUT! I could barely walk up the stairs and I seriously don't think I moved until 7am this morning. I woke up feeling nauseous and completely wiped out. I should have taken my antibiotics with food because apparently this is what happens when you don't. So I stumbled out of bed, made my way downstairs and Toly made me some toast. I felt so sick but I knew I had to get something in my stomach. Then, I passed out for another hour on the couch, woke up feeling a little better, and proceeded to force down some instant oatmeal.
Ugh, I am so happy I didn't even attempt to run this morning. It was the worst morning ever!
On top of all of that, I am definitely still swollen...
After hours of laying around on the couch (the only thing I seem to be doing these days) I started to feel better and knew I needed to get some movement. I did another easy 30 min. on the ET and showered. Felt so much better after this.
So, even though my options are limited and I wasn't very hungry today, I have been wanting to make my own hummus for some time. I adapted Kath's version of Lemony Hummus by adding my own basil and parsley straight from the garden. This hummus is awesome! I love the fresh herbs and the lemony flavor.
Toly headed over to his parents house for a picnic tonight but I still wasn't feeling quite up for a party. I woke up a few hours later and felt the need to move again. I walked to the gym and did 3 miles of hill speed walking on the treadmill. Wow, I totally needed this. Again, it felt so good to move. I am NOT a sedentary person, and being unable to workout has been killing me! During these times, you do what you can and slowly, I feel that I am getting my energy back.
I am hoping tomorrow, Toly and I can workout together. Maybe a nice easy hike or bike ride. We'll see.
Later on, I still wasn't hungry at all, but I knew I needed to eat something because I hadn't had much all day and I worked out twice. So I opted for a favorite standby-cold cereal! I mixed a little Special K with some Kashi Go Lean and soaked it in some soy milk for a little while to get it nice and soggy. Then I added frozen/thawed cherries and blueberries. This tasted very good actually, although, slightly hard to eat. I managed through it though.
I also cut up some strawberries and cottage cheese but I really couldn't eat them. I ate a few and gave up. Then I came up with the idea of making Overnight Oats for tomorrow morning. I have never tried this before, but it seems perfect. Hot oats is just too much in the mornings right now, but cold cereal is just a little too rough on the gums, so overnight oats is the PERFECT solution. I mixed 1/3 Cup Oats, 1/4 Cup Oikos, 1/2 Cup Almond Milk, and my leftover strawberries and threw this in the fridge. Hopefully tomorrow morning, I will have a nice bowl of mushy, doughy oats to enjoy.
Well, I'm running out of juice once again! I am NOT a drug girl. Seriously, I don't even take Advil for a headache so being on all of these medications is killing me. I can definitely feel the effects it has on my body. Ugh, and I am not liking it. Oh well, I guess it's better than being in pain. Hopefully, tomorrow I will be in much better shape! Or at least able to eat REAL FOOD!!!!!!
I'm glad you're slowly but surely getting a little better! I really am hoping you can have some real food tomorrow. Stay positive and don't go crazy - you'll be back to your old self in no time!
