Baltimore B-day Weekend

Good evening to you all. Hope your weekends were lovely. Ours was quite the celebratory one as we spent the night in Baltimore, MD in honor of Toly's sister, Lena, her husband and our brother-in-law, Steve, and my birthday. Since we all share b-days within the same week, we try to do a big party or plan a little trip each year to recognize all 3 of them.

We chose Baltimore as our party town this year. Me, Toly, Steve, Lena, Luke (Steve's brother), their friend Tom, and their other friends, Ed and Jamie were on the guest list. I love love love Baltimore and being down there brings back memories of my college days when I went to Towson. Granted, I haven't been to the clubs since college, so I was a bit out of shape when it comes to staying out late and dancing.

Before we headed out to the bars, we started with a crazy expensive, fancy and AMAZING dinner at Ruth's Chris Steak House. Toly has been talking about this place ever since his bachelor party and has raved about the steaks being the very best he has ever eaten. Even though I am not an eater of red meat, I knew I was going to have to try a bite to see what all the hype was about. Even though I didn't order one of their world renowned steaks, that comes out on a sizziling 500* plate, I did order a truly amazing dish. Pan seared sea scallops were out of this world! Probably some of the best I have ever had. I did try to steak and do admit, if I liked meat, this would be pretty incredible. I was fine with just one bite, but Toly (and everyone else at the table) managed to devourer every single morsel of these babies.

After dinner, we hit up a few bars. The first was one in Fells Point called "The Horse you Rode in On" and Toly told us all that this was the 6th oldest saloon in the country. Apparently, his friend told him it was the oldest, but after we googled it, actually turns out it is the 6th.

After a few drinks, we made out way back up in Inner Harbor and entered some dance clubs. We had a great time but I do admit, after a few hours, I was slowly beginning to run out of steam. Funny how I can remember being able to stay up all night in my younger days like it was nothing, and now I can hardly keep my eyes open past midnight. :(

Oh well, regardless it was a great time and we all enjoyed a night out. We have another full weekend ahead of us, with my birthday on Friday (and my party at the Melting Pot...Can not wait for this!), another b-day dinner for Steve and Lena with our families on Saturday night, and Easter and another b-day dinner celebration with my family on Sunday. Wow, God must have been on a role in April by creating all these wonderful lives in the same month!!! :)
