The blogging community amazes me. Every day, I am overwhelmed by amount of support and love that a huge network of individuals provide on a constant basis.
I am sure that most of you have heard the unfortunate story of a fellow blogger and friend to many, Susan of The Great Balancing Act.
Susan was recently diagnosed with Lymphoma and has been undergoing countless treatment in order to kick this cancer's ass. As strong and amazing as she may be, Susan's abilities to overcome the fight is something she can't do alone. You see, fighting cancer costs money and quite a lot of it.
In an effort to raise money to help out this incredible girl, we all came together last week and did something miraculous. In less than 24 hours, we all raised over $26,000 for Susan. That's incredible!
As phenomenal as that is, there is still always more that can be done.
Allow me to fill you in on a project I have been working on for a few weeks….
We would like to call it, The Great Fundraising Act PART 2….
A good friend of mine happens to be the owners of a very reputable and rising granola company in my area.
Sarah Lanphier is the mastermind behind one of the most delicious and unique granola lines.
Nuts About Granola (www.NutsAboutGranola.com) was created by a mother and daughter who shared a passion for cooking together. Gayle and Sarah’s love for the kitchen and a deep understanding of the importance of nutrition developed a treat to help them refuel during various athletic events.
When I first found out of Susan's situation, I immediately contacted Sarah to see if there was something we could do.
Ironically, Sarah had recently teamed up with Cancer Warrior, a cancer awareness research company, in an effort to raise money towards cancer research. Sarah worked her magic and not only developed a personalized flavor of granola for this cause, but also agreed along with Cancer Warrior to donate ALL proceeds of this new line to go directly to Susan and The Great Fundraising Act.

Cancer-Warrior (www.Cancer-Warrior.org) was founded in July 2009 as a means to raise money and awareness for cancer research. Designer and Owner of Cancer-Warrior, Heather Barley, lives in York, PA and remains a committed advocate of cancer research and awareness. Heather formed “Angels Giving to Those in Need,” a non-profit organization aimed to support cancer patients; donates her time and resources to the York Habitat for Humanity Cancer Survivors Build and ROAR, an organization that focuses on ovarian cancer awareness; and sponsors and participates the in the annual York Cancer Patient Help Fund Bike Hike.
