Super Bowls and Bowls of Soup

Hey guys!

Sorry to go MIA on you yesterday.  It ended up being a long day and we didn't end up getting home until close to 11pm.  For me, 11pm on a work night is just absurd.  I was kind of freaking out at how late it was and went to bed immediately upon my arrival home.  Needless to say, I was dragging a bit today, but oh well, all in the name of a good Superbowl.

Let's recap.

SUNDAY

As I predicted, I woke up still full from the feast I enjoyed the night before.  It took almost 2 hours until I could bring myself to make breakfast.  Toly was still sleeping and didn't get in until unreasonably late, so I let him sleep and just made myself a simple bowl of cereal.

Cinnamon Cheerios, Kashi Go Lean, Banana, Blueberries, Almond Milk

My stomach always seems to welcome cereal, no matter how hungry or not hungry I am.

My Sunday morning was spent as any normal Sunday morning, with a great Body Pump Class.  I felt empowered to up my weights in the chest and back track.  My next big step will be go go up to 40 pounds in the squats.  If I had to confess my real fear of reaching this point, it has nothing to do with the weight itself, I know I can handle 40 pounds in the squat track, it's actually my fear of not being able to life the bar over my head after the song is over.  One time I almost got stuck in that position and literally could not lift the bar when the song ended.  I had to have the guy next to me help me, so embarrassing!  I think I had just exhausted my arms and locked up.  So anyways, I'm still trying to talk myself up to that move, but I'll get there.

Once class was over, I met Toly back home so we could go run some Sunday errands.

We both never really got that hungry until later in the afternoon, when he suggested we stop at Wegmans  for a little lunch.

I can never go to Wegmans without getting a mix of all of their tasty salads from the bar.

I have no idea what was in here but it taste amazing!

I also picked up one of their fresh made sushi rolls.

Wegmans makes some pretty good sushi.

It turned out to be quite a satisfying lunch.

Later on, we headed out to Toly's parent's house for the Superbowl.  It turned into one big family party when my sister and brother in law joined with the kids.

I can't believe Abby is 7 months already.  Just the other day I came across my post when she was born back in July.

The rest of the night was spent watching the Superbowl and eating good food, much like everyone else's nights were spent.

MONDAY:

I can't believe I actually got up early this morning but somehow, I managed.  Maybe it was the allure of breakfast that brought me to my feet (it usually is).

Banana Bread Oatmeal

To make this, I simply made Whipped Banana Oats, added some blueberries, banana PB, cashews, and crumbled banana coconut bread.

This bowl actually tasted like a bowl of banana bread pudding.

The majority of my work day was spent doing research.  Sounds boring right?

Not exactly.

My friend/co-worker and I are tasked with researching various social media tactics to enhance certain areas of our company.  Since we have little access to these websites in the building, we were allowed to move the office to a nearby coffee house to use their free wi-fi.

Juice and Java happens to be right around the corner, and made a perfect setting for today's business meeting.

We spent most of the morning working and then broke for lunch.

I had my usual: Greek Salad with Veggie Burger.

Strawberry Banana Pineapple Smoothie

We ended up getting a lot done and feel a little more prepared to take our findings into our supervisor next week.

I was still feeling pretty tired after work, but talked myself into the gym on the ride over.  I kept telling myself I would start and see what I had in me.

Apparently I had 5 miles in me.  Not sure how that happened but it did and I was pleased.

Toly and I both arrived home around the same time tonight, so I didn't wait long to make dinner.

I made what I have been craving all day.

Grilled Cheese and Tomato Soup.

Not just any Grilled Cheese
This baby was filled with Pesto, Tomato Chutney, Spinach, Tomato and Goat Cheese

Hit. The. Spot!

Well that should catch you up.

Hope everyone enjoyed the Superbowl.

Tell me, what was the best thing you ate this weekend? For me, I think it was the Bread Pudding with Butter Rum Sauce that Jen made on Saturday.  Even though I'm pretty sure it did me in, it was so worth it.

The smell was wafting around in the car that I just had to start tearing off pieces before I got home lol.
