So Many Little Good Things

It was a wonderful day yesterday.  One of those days when you don't exactly accomplish profound things, but so many little good things that add up to make the day fulfilled.

I woke up feeling 110% back to my normal state of health.  The first time in 4 days when I was alert, hungry, and so ready to take on the day.

For the past few days, I've completely eliminated fruits and veggies from my diet.  When you're sick with the flu, these things have no appeal what so ever, an obvious sign that I am not in a clear state of mind.  I knew I was better yesterday when all I wanted was fruit for breakfast.

Mango, Pineapple, Kiwi with Pineapple Chobani, Granola

1/2 Whole Wheat English Muffin with Banana and Peanut butter
(more fruit!)

This was an ideal breakfast to eat before hitting the gym.  I was particularly excited about today's visit because it was the launch of the new Les Mils Body Attack class.  Body Attack is one of my favorites but I rarely get to do it because the class times usually don't fit into my schedule.  I was pumped!

Once at the gym, I waited for the class to start and warmed up with an easy 2 mile run on the treadmill.  I hadn't run in days and it felt great to move my legs again.

The class rocked!!!  If you've never taken Body Attack it's basically a 60 min, high intensity cardio workout that focuses on keeping your heart rate up the entire class. Some tracks touch on plyometrics, agility, running, and with two peaks of pure intensity.  It's really fantastic.  Mid way through the class, people came by with Red Bull shots.  Ha, so cool!

I was exhausted by the end of class but so fulfilled from a great workout.

I had to run some errands afterwards, one which included purchasing a very important piece of furniture for our new home.  A treadmill!

I found one off of Craigslist that turned out to be a phenomenal deal.  After going to see it to make sure everything was as promised, it was a done deal and now I am one treadmill richer.  Just another addition to my future home gym. ;)

I didn't have much time in between errands today, but I did have a few minutes to run home, shower and grab lunch.

And all I wanted was veggies to counteract my deficit.

Romaine, Lentils, Carrots, Tomatoes, Broccoli, Asparagus, Edamame, Tofu, Hummus, Balsamic

Squash Fries and Parsnips Fries
(The Parsnip fries were nut butter encrusted)

I had to down this lunch in less than 15 min to make it to my hair appointment.

I told my hair dresser I was looking for something different and that I needed a change.  After talking to her and thinking about it, I believe I am going to let my hair grow long once again and add a bunch of long layers to add dynamic and volume.  However, right now, it's still needs to grow a little more, so for this visit, she shaped it up and added some front bags for something a little different.

I love it!  Going for the Reese Witherspoon look.

Later on, I got ready to go out for Girls Night with my bf Jen.

It's been far too long since we've hung out and last night, we were actually able to sneak out for some wine and sushi thanks to her husband for staying home with the kids.

We spent the night talking over our large plate of sushi and a bottle of Pinot.  It was everything wonderful. :)

Today's plan:

  • Breakfast
  • Body Pump
  • Furniture Shopping
  • Jeans Shopping
  • Pizza and Red Box
Have a great day!

  5. SUCH a great day. Glad you're feeling better. Hooray for the new attack. It is the greatest class ever (in my opinion). The Squash Fries and Parsnips Fries look amazing. I <3 Reese and her hair. Yours looks TOTALLY adorable. Enjoy the day. My day is going to be pretty low key. Cleaning the bathrooms & dusting (how fun!) then just relaxing and watching football

  10. I love the bangs!! You're lucky to have the kind of hair that doesn't need much styling- mine would be frizz city with bangs!

Body Attack sounds awesome, though I'm not sure about Red Bull while working out :)
