Nuts About Granola!

Hey everyone!

I'm still not feeling the best, but definitely better.

While I'm recovering, I wanted to take the opportunity to share with you guys some new granola I had the chance to sample recently.

A few days ago, I was browsing one of our local magazines, when I came across an article about a mother and daughter who began their own business making natural granola from local ingredients.

Never seeing this granola before, I knew I needed to find out more.  Their company was located in a surrounding town not more than 20 min from my hometown.

Aside from being local Nuts About Granola caught my attention more for the commendable mission statement: "We believe in the whole foods diet: consuming only foods in their natural form without any artificial chemicals, dies or preservatives." (taken from website)

I contacted Sarah (owner) and asked her if I would be able to sample and share the word of their products.

Sarah was so gracious to send me two of their most popular varieties to sample.

Ambrosia

The Ambrosia is part of their speciality line. It combines a tropical mixture of pomegranate, dried mango, and apricots and it is also vegan.  Not only does Nuts About Granola offer fresh, wholesome, and satisfying granola but they also offer a vegan line that caters to all diets.

I was definitely impressed with the visible pieces of dried fruit mixed with the oats.  I could also tell how fresh this was from the initial opening. I could smell the essence of coconut and cinnamon as soon as I opened the package.

The taste?  Delightful.  This flavor was fresh, crisp and light.  It paired so well atop a bowl of pineapple yogurt mixed with fresh kiwi.  I was considerably impressed with the crunch of the oats.  Sometimes, I notice that homemade granola tends to get soggy too fast, but this held up quite nicely.

The next flavor was their signature: Plain Jane.

Plain Jane is the granola that started it all.
"Its unique peanutty flavor is like no other granola you have ever tried. By sweetening the granola with honey, its peanut
butter flavor is accentuated, not masked." (Taken from website)

.

I've only ever had Peanut Butter Granola one other time and I remember falling in love. It was from a local framers market that I swear had just been made because it was still warm when I sampled it.  My expectations were high going into this but I tired to have an open mind.

The verdict?  Bravo!!!  I love the subtle flavors of peanut butter that didn't overpower the rest of the sweetness. I could definitely sense the taste of honey and brown sugar which made a great contrast.  Again, the texture was great.  Crisp but pleasantly chewy.

If you live local, I suggest keeping your eye out for Nuts About Granola.  If you don't live local, you're still in luck, because the company offers a wide variety of products on their website

Thank you Sarah for giving me the opportunity to share the word about your great products.
