Escaping the Mundane

Happy Tuesday folks!

I wish I could tell you I had unbelievable excitement to share about today, but really, it was pretty mundane.

Breakfast is never mundane in my world though.

1/2 Diced Green Apple, 1/3 Cup Kashi Go Lean Crunch, Blackberries, Applesauce, Vanilla Chobani, Granola, Cinnamon PB

Grapefruit is so good now.  I already love grapefruit, but these days, I really love grapefruit.

At work, I realized that it was going to be a full office day when some things my in schedule got rearranged.  Things in the office were just a little tense with deadlines and such, and by 11am, I was feeling the need to get out.  Even though I did bring a salad today, I just really wanted to get out again.  I know, that's 2 days in a row, but I promised myself I would pack for the next few days.

I asked my good friend and co-worker, Audi, if she wanted to join me.  She was on the same page so we hightailed out for a much enjoyed lunch and girl gab.

We went to my favorite, Cafe Magnolia.  (In case you were wondering, Cafe Magnolia is right beside our office so its quite a popular choice for lunch in our company).

The waitress revealed that the soup today was Lentil and I immediately became curious.  She took notice to that and asked if I'd like to try a sample.

Turns out the soup sample worked because I ended up ordering a bowl.

As well as the Almond Breaded Goat Cheese Salad.  I've had this one before and it's a glorious thing.

Almond Breaded Goat Cheese on a bed of blanched asparagus, strawberries, roasted red peppers, spinach and a maple balsamic reduction

It was so nice to catch up with Audi.  We worked beside each other every day but don't really get a chance to really chat in the office.  It was lovely to have some down time in the middle of our hectic afternoons.

Tonight's dinner featured the eggs I neglected last night.  I've been craving good eggs for awhile now, as well as the combination of cream cheese and jam.  Maybe it was Janetha who planted this little idea in my head, but I haven't been able to stop thinking about it since.

Yum!  Dinner was egg-cell-ent! (Haha, excuse my lameness)

Snow tomorrow!  Greeaaaattttt!!! (excuse my sarcasm)

Night!

  11. Your soup and salad sound and look delicious, but I really zeroed in on the eggs you had for dinner. I'm a big fan of eggs in all their guises. I hope things at work calm down a bit for you. I'm new to your blog and have really enjoyed my visit here. I'll definitely be back. I hope you have a great day. Blessings...Mary
