Turkey Trot Results = Sickness!

Hi everyone!  Happy Weekend!

It's really a good thing we really don't have any set plans this weekend because I don't see myself being up for much.  You see, apparently running a 5k in the freezing rain in 30 degree weather will cause illness.  Or at least it did for me! :(

It didn't start until last night.  Yesterday I felt fine for most of the day.  I woke up and went to work while the rest of the world went to the mall.  Truth be told, I was actually more excited to be at work than the mall.

Breakfast was more simple as I was still feeling some post T-Day fullness.

Natures Path Vanilla Sunrise, Barbara's Vanilla Almond Oat Squares, Banana, Raspberries, White Chocolate PB/Coconut Butter Drizzle and Nutty Almond Granola

I decided to take off Wednesday this week and wanted to go in on Friday in order to get a lot done around the office.  It was actually a really nice day to clean, organize, and prep in the office.

I broke around noon for lunch in the cube.

Smoked Salmon and Pickles.  Could there be a more fantastic sandwich???

When I got off work, I tried to avoid the crazy shopping traffic and made my way over to the gym.  As soon as I pulled in the parking lot, I realized the gym was closed! Hmmmmm…..I guess they were assuming everyone would need an extra day to recovery before entering into any serious cardio.

On a complete whim, I decided to test out a backup.  The Retail Workout!

Yes, I did.  The mall is right across from the gym and it actually didn't look too bad around 4:30 and it really wasn't.  I also found some fantastic deals and was able to get so much Christmas shopping done.  Well, Christmas shopping for myself.  Thanks Toly! :)

After a couple hours of working up a sweat and a credit card bill, I called my friend Jen to see if she would be up for a girl's night.  Dinner, wine and a movie on a relaxing Friday night with your best girlfriend, heck yes!

I swung by Cafe Magnolia and picked up dinner.

Cafe Magnolia has the best scallops I've ever had.  And the risotto is out of this world.  I'm guessing the cup of oil has a lot to do with that but whatever does the trick! :)  Haha, I actually dumped most of that oil and I was still feeling the effects all night of what it does to my stomach.  But the sharp stomach pains were well worth it.

As we watched Eat Pray Love and nibbled on Carrot Cake I could tell my throat was starting to feel quite sore and I couldn't stop sneezing.  I woke up in the middle of the night with a throat so sore I couldn't even swallow as well as a head full of sniffles.  Ugh, I'm really hoping this is just a touch.

I'm contemplating the gym this morning but I'm not sure how much I'll put into it.  We'll see.  A hot bowl of oats and some tea will determine that.

Hope everyone has a fantastic day!
