Making Time for Me Time

Hello Hello!

Well, I'm very happy to report that the sickness was merely a 24 hour thing.  I woke up yesterday feeling almost back to normal.  My body has been under an abnormal amount of stress these past few weeks, plus I've been adjusting to some new vitamins and medications which always throws my immune system out a whack.  I think a day of nothing but rest was exactly what I needed.

But back to yesterday, as I said, I woke up feeling much much better.  My stomach was still just a tad off so I opted for something lighter for breakfast.

Berries, Yogurt and Granola

I received this granola from my friend who sells Tastefully Simple Products and I have to say, it is some of the BEST granola I've ever had.  The nuts are so similar to those cinnamon sugar coated nuts that everyone makes over the holidays.  And the large chunks of crunchy oats are incredible.  I will need to order more of this for sure!

The office was pretty quite so I was able to get a lot of work done in the morning and worked my way through right up until lunch.

Lunch plans with Jess is always a treat in my day.  We have the best lunches together and always end up with the most fantastic meals.

Today, we opted for sushi and oh boy was it ever delicious!

Okay now I am going to say this bold statement with complete and utter truth.  This roll is the very best sushi I've ever encountered.

Caribbean Roll

Gosh, I can't even tell you what is all in it.  Coconut Shrimp, Mango, Spicy Tuna, Avocado and some decadent heavenly sauce all topped with tempura toasted coconut.  Holy AMAZING!

Jess and I split this bad boy and ordered a few more lighter rolls to fill in the space on the table.

Cucumber, Tuna and California Roll

Love this girl!

Love Sushi Lunches!

Ah, it was splendid.  I got off work and hit the gym for a 5 mile run.  Unfortunately, running on an full belly of sushi was a bit uncomfortable, but I somehow managed.

Later on, Toly and I met up with our builder for dinner and drinks to pick out siding, shingles and stone. How cool that we meet our builder for a beer while designing our house?  Over dinner, I asked Rich to lay it down for me and tell him his HONEST guess on when the house would be done.  He said it all goes according to his deadlines, he will have my house done by the end of January!!!  Now I realize that this is best case scenario; however, I have to say, he is moving FAST!  In one week, the hole is dug, the foundation is poured and the walls are up.  Next week, framing begins and he will have it under roof by the end of the month.  Cross your fingers for no early winter storms and it might just pan out.

We got home and both crashed early.  After a good night's rest, I was up by 6am ate a quick breakfast and was out the door to catch back to back classes at the gym.

Body Pump followed by Body Combat.  WOW!  What was I thinking?  First, Pump was killer.  We had a new instructor who was fantastic.  I kept thinking, "wow, this chic is intense" and then as soon as she took off her jacket, she exposed these GIGANTIC ripped arms.  Try taking Pump with a Body Builder and see the difference. :)

2 hours of great workouts and I was moving on to my next to-do off the day, a hair appointment!!!! (Finally!)

On the way, I stopped for what I think may be the best Holiday Drink I've come up with at S-Bux.

Grande Soy Misto (Thanksgiving Blend) with One Pump of Gingerbread

Thanksgiving in a Christmas cup.  Fa La La La La!

After my 2 hour hair appointment, I was so famished.  I popped into my favorite cafe for a little lunch.

1/2 Veggie Wrap and Black Bean Salad

Pineapple Strawberry Banana Smoothie

Last thing on the agenda was a manicure.  This was truly a fantastic Saturday.  It's been quite awhile since I've devoted an entire morning/afternoon just for me.  I really enjoyed the time to do what I wanted when I wanted and felt refreshed getting in some "me" time. It's definitely a good thing to be a little selfish from time to time.

Tonight, we have a reception to attend for my friend/co-worker and her new hubby.  They got married two weeks ago with a destination wedding and now they are celebrating with their friends and family.  Can't wait to party!!!!

Happy Weekend!!!!!

  7. Good for you!! We all need some me-time.

Your Sbux drink sounds amazing! I'm not a sweet coffee person (hated the pumpkin spice) but maybe I could stand just one pump of gingerbread?

  10. I totally know what you mean by feeling like your body is adjusting to new vitamins, etc., I usually feel really sleepy when I start new vitamins or when I take them after skipping 3 or 4 days in a row.
