It's How You Run The Race

Hey guys!

Just wanted to pop in to tell you that I finished strong in the ING Hartford 5k! Thank you all for your support and good luck wishes.

Official Time- 24:49
I finished 6th in my age group and 160th out of almost 1,000 overall.

It was a great race and I had a blast!!  I am so happy about my decision to pull from the 1/2 and just have fun with this 5k.  The knee held up great!! The hardest part about pulling from the 1/2 was feeling like I was giving up.  But you know what I realized today?  I didn't give up!  I gave it my all in that 5k and I ran strong.  Just because my body wasn't equipped to give me the distance this time around, I still accomplished another race and did well.  That is what running is all about.  It's not always about the distance, is how you run the race!

We're off to enjoy the rest of our time in Hartford on this beautiful day.

Enjoy your weekends everyone!

PS- GOOD LUCK to all my girls running the Chicago Marathon tomorrow!  ROCK IT LADIES!!!!
