Exhausting My Packing Skills

Exhausted.  The word doesn't even begin to explain how I feel after today, but it's the only one I could come up with to try and illustrate my current state.

With just 2 more weeks until the big MOVE day, Toly and I found this 3 day weekend a golden opportunity to spend the entire day packing.

I wasn't able to sleep very well last night.  I think I may have gotten too much sleep on vacation because my internal body clock was up at 4:30am thinking it was a regular weekday.  I tossed and turned for about an hour and decided I could't lay any longer.

I really wanted to run.  I thought about it for awhile because it was still dark out and I'm a scared little girl when it comes to running in the dark.  I eventually got on my running clothes and decided I would check the weather.

Once outside, the weather was literally perfect for a run.  Even though it was still dark at 5:30am, I grabbed my mace, carried my lit iPod, and decided to head right into the residential neighborhoods that were all lit up.

I don't condone nighttime running (nor does my husband) but I really did try to run smart.  I stayed only near the main roads and only in the areas that were well lit.  I ran for about 3.25 miles and it was fantastic.  I couldn't even see my Garmin so I didn't bother looking.  I just ran and enjoyed every moment.

When I got back, I showered and played around on my computer before breakfast.

After such an indulgent weekend, my stomach finally was starting to feel the effects.  I actually felt a bit queasy but eventually decided a bowl of cereal would settle nicely.

Total Raisin Bran, Oatmeal Squares, 1/2 Banana, Blueberries, Might Maple, Flax and Almond Milk.  Is this weird that this is what I consider a "normal" bowl of cereal?  Haha, don't most people eat nut butter in the cereals?

I finished up the cantaloupe with my cereal and enjoyed a big cup of coffee.

After I ate and digested, I was off to Zumba.  My favorite instructor only teaches on Monday and Wednesday mornings so I can never take her classes unless I am off work.  I couldn't miss the chance to take her class today.  It was INCREDIBLE!!!  I am so happy I went.

When I got home, Toly and I worked.  We pulled out the garden cleaned up the back yard.

Eventually, we got hungry for lunch.

I was thinking about this all morning, so I made my Fall Quinoa Salad for lunch.

It was delicious!  Red Quinoa, Apple, Butternut Squash, Brussels Sprouts, Green Beans, Pumpkin Seeds, in a Balsamic Dijon Maple Dressing with some Laughing Cow Blue Cheese crumbled on top.  On the side, I had a small slice of Apple Cider Bread with some Laughing Cow and Jam.

The next 6 hours were not pretty.  We literally tore the house apart and packed like our lives depended on it. Even though we spent countless hours putting things in boxes, it still didn't feel like we made a dent.

We are now storing everything in the garage, so that way when we get the Pod, everything can just be transferred in with ease. (or so we hope)

I didn't want to stop or sit down for even a moment because I knew if I did, there was a good chance I wouldn't have gotten up.  So I pushed through the afternoon and right into the evening and up until dinner.

As soon as I sat down to eat, I almost fell into the bowl.  Haha, I knew my exhaustion would catch up with me the moment I sat down, and it sure did.  Bed will be early tonight!

Oy vay, packing blows.  We still have so much to do and not much time left.

So much for vacation, it's all down to business from here on out.

Goodnight my friends. :)

  1. When its darker out, I run with mace too. It makes me feel so much safer!! What a beautiful lunch salad. I love how you fueled yourself with such awesome food (vs. grabbing junk- which is so easy to do when you're packing or busy). Get some rest

  4. I know those feelings of exhaustion...packing/moving can be so draining...especially after traveling. I know that whenever I go on vacation, it takes me quite a few days to get back into a good sleep schedule. I'm going to be sending good packing vibes your way...stay strong sweet girl and sleep well tonight!

  9. I totally know what you mean. I hate packing and moving and unpacking and everything that goes with it. I have moved 3 times in the past 4 years. It is very tiring. Just think, in the end all of this will be so worth it. :)

  11. Moving is the WORST. I hate it. I don't mind being in a new place but the actual process of moving is really annoying
