Local Produce Love and Winner of my Giveaway!

Hey guys!  Hope you are enjoying the weekend so far.  I just wanted to pop in for a few things….

First, thank you all for your warm well wishes on my news from yesterday!  We are so excited and scared to death, but don't worry, I'll be keeping you updated throughout.

This morning, my body clock woke me up at 6:30am.  I had my alarm set for 6:45am but I guess that was wishful thinking.  Oh why can't I sleep past 7am anymore!

Well, once I got up and moving, I headed out for a run.  At first, I really wasn't feeling it and contemplated quitting after a mile. But then I kept thinking how perfect the weather was, how this is my only time I get to run outside, and to just suck it up and enjoy it.  Eventually, I did.

When I got home I had to quick shower and get ready to meet my dad and my sister for breakfast.

Our monthly Father/Daughter Breakfast was due.

We went to a new place called Annies.  It was a cute little family style diner that specialized in homemade breakfast.

I ordered the Harvest Pancakes made with sweet potato flour and walnuts.

Today is my sister's birthday, so it was great that we were able to plan our breakfast on her special day!

After breakfast I found myself at the Farmers Market.  Oh boy, what a wonderful choice.  It was overflowing with homegrown local produce…the berries, the peaches, the corn, the veggies….it was pretty fantastic.

I got home and started nibbling on random berries, peas and green beans while I put all of my loot away.  I wasn't super hungry after that but I wanted something light and refreshing.

1 slice of Multigrain Toast, Greek Yogurt, Berries, Cinnamon, Vanilla AB, Granola

With a green monster (strawberry, peach, banana) and a handful of local cherries!

Hit. The. Spot!

We are headed over to our friends house tonight for a cookout and swimming.  I was asked to bring the dessert and since baking is not in my line of traits, I opted for the one dessert I do best….

Peach and Blackberry Trifle

And now for the winner of the Calphalon Panini Press….

My favorite sandwich combination is cream cheese, turkey, and strawberry jam in pita bread. It may sound strange but it's sooooo good!

Congrats girl!  Email me your address so I can get the pan out to you asap!

Enjoy your day everyone!
