Unordinary Friday

I hate diets.  I had food rules.  And I hate when people incorporate the two into their lives.  However, if there is one "rule" that I would say should NEVER be broken when it comes to eating, it would be to always always eat breakfast.

Now, even if you choose to merely grab a banana and some toast, that will do; however, why would you limit yourself to such ordinary options when there are tremendously better things out there…like this…..

Banana Split Waffles

2 Natures Path Flax Whole Grain Waffles, Strawberry Oikos, Mashed Banana, Strawberries, Blueberries, Pecans, Dark Chocolate Almond Butter Drizzle

I promise, if you eat breakfast like a king every morning, you will never skip this essential meal ever again.

Fridays are becoming a reason for me to partake in an unordinary breakfast.  And by unordinary, I mean something out of my usual cereal and yogurt bowls.  Expect to see more of these fantastic Friday breakfasts from now on.

Before I engaged with my waffles, I muddled my way through a 5 mile run.  It was kind of rough.  My runs usually get tiresome at the end of the week, which is why I usually only do a few miles and reserve the rest of the time for yoga, but I was behind on my weekly miles and wanted to get in a few extra to meet my goal.  My legs were heavy and tired but I was happy when I did it.

Another unordinary event…..lunch!  This was unordinary because as you know, I don't go out often, but one of my coworkers and I had a meeting around the lunch hour and decided to make a lunch meeting out of it.

We ventured to a favorite pizza place of his where I ordered the Greek Salad with Grilled Salmon.

Bryce was updated on my blogging habit when I whipped out my camera and started snapping pictures of my food like it was entirely normal.  I realized quickly that it probably does not look normal to the average person to be taking multiple photographs of your food in public places.

He was totally cool with the idea of being on the blog and made his fantastic debut by posing appropriately with his cheesesteak.

Say hi to Bryce!  One of the nicest guys I know and he's single ladies!! :)

After lunch and my meeting, the end of the work day couldn't have come soon enough.

I was loosing energy so stopped to refuel fast…..

We didn't have any plans for the night, which was just perfect, considering the rest of the weekend is full of plans.

For dinner, I made pizza.

BBQ Tofu Pizza with Zucchini, Feta and Mango

Toly's side was BBQ chicken with bacon and 3 different kinds of cheese.

With the pizza, I made us side salads that were pretty basic.  Unordinary for me, because my salads are usually out of the norm, but this one was just your simple romaine, veggies, and avocado with some balsamic.

I love pizza Fridays!

And I also love Friday Night Lights which is about to start.  Time to settle in with the boys for the night.

Hope everyone had a fantastic Friday, even if it was unordinary.

  3. I used to skip breakfast...mostly because I had no appetite, or I woke up too late. But now I make an effort to eat at least something. And there were times when I eat a bagel with cream cheese, scrambled eggs, bacon and turkey sausages for breakfast. So much for "no appetite"! ;-)

  4. "I hate diets." AMEN, sister!! One of my best friends constantly talks about how many calories are in everything. It drives me absolutely crazy. Your breakfast looks fantastic, I'm especially obsessed with the chocolate almond butter drizzle!! Hope you have a great weekend love!!
