Double The Pleasure Double The Fun

Sorry for my absence yesterday.  It was a very busy day and I didn't get home until almost 11pm!  I know, that's unheard of for me (especially on a school night!)

So today, you're in luck because I have a doubled up post for you!

Lets begin at yesterday morning……

Short version:

6 mile run followed by breakfast…..

TJ's Twigs and Flakes, Natures Path Flax Flakes, Pomegranate Chobani, Berries

1/2 WW English Muffin with Raspberry Jam

The morning at work flew by due part to a 3 hour meeting.  After it was over, I went out to lunch with a few of my co-workers/friends.

We all decided that sushi sounded good and decided to try a new restaurant.

Trying new sushi places is always a risk.  It seems that sushi is one of those meals that you either know it's good or else you've heard it's good because you just can't go off looks with Asian restaurants.  Some of the best food comes from the most skeezy looking places and vice versa.

We took a risk.  Upon entering, the strong smell of urine turned our hopes in skepticism which was more emphasized when the recycled menus were handed to us with old sushi orders scribbled out. Hmmmm…..

Edamame is always a safe start….

The salad and soup are usually pretty standard….

Okay, so far so good, but the real test was in the fish.  I ordered the White Fish Roll

Verdict?

It was great.  My only complaint was that the white fish was just a tad overcooked.  I don't like that rubbery texture in my fish, but other than that, we all enjoyed it.

After work, my company held it's annual Associate Rally. The company I work for is extremely passionate about its employees and really strives to recognize a "family" type of atmosphere.  I have been going to these rally's for 6 years, and every year, they just get bigger and better.

It was such a fun night and I definitely stayed out way past my bedtime but it was a blast!

This morning, I somehow managed to pull myself out of bed at 4am for a 5 mile run.

Breakfast was incredible!

Oatmeal Squares, PB Puffins, Blueberry Oikos Blueberries, Banana, Banana Muffin with Mighty Maple

By far, a favorite yogurt mess of mine.

Work was pretty standard but lunch was a different story….

Extraordinary salad…..

Kale, Arugula, Cucumber, Radish, Apple, Roasted Acorn Squash, Beets, Dried Cherries, Avocado, Pumpkin Seeds, Hummus and Dijon

Now that was one incredible salad.  I have a really hard time ordering or enjoying a salad out because my tastes for salads are quite exquisite.  Seriously, who would get excited over a few pieces of ice berg and a cherry tomato?  Not me.

Tonight was obviously BFD and I didn't have to waste much time thinking of the menu.  I wanted the exact same sammie I made a few weeks ago (because I really couldn't stop thinking about how good it was).

TJ's Rustic Bread (toasted) Dijon Cream Sauce, Asparagus, Egg with Slow Roasted Sweet Potatoes and Kale

Toly's usual…

Wednesdays are like Fridays for us.  Nothing makes the mid-week more satisfying than an incredible, edible, egg sammie!

Well that was a lot for one day so if you made it through, thanks for sticking with me.

Only 2 more days until the weekend and I am R-E-A-D-Y!!!

Goodnight! :)

I don't usually like white fish because it tastes blander compared to other fatty fish, but it looks awesome in a sushi!

  10. Sushi is always a huge win or a huge fail. I've definitely had some of the best fish at the hole in the wall places, though! Glad it didn't disappoint, minus the smell :) Hope you're having a great day!!
