Breakfast x 3!

I LOVE THIS BREAKFAST!

Diced Pear with Cinnamon, 1/4 Cup Kashi Go Lean Crunch, Cinnamon Puffins, Applesauce, 2 TBL Carmel Oikos, Flax, Honey Almond Butter

Do I even need to write out the description anymore?  You all know it's going to make the weekly rotation, it's just so darn good!

The Grapefruit was pretty darn good as well.

Before this lovely breakfast, I had quite an interesting time on the treadmill with a 5.5 mile run.  Why was it interesting you ask?

Well, my alarm woke me from a very deep sleep.  I think I was right in the middle of a dream and I didn't want to wake up because I wanted to know how it ended (does that ever happen to you?)  Anyways, I was half awake when I started.  Well, 2 min into the run, I realized I forgot to put on my socks.  Ummm……really Lauren?  So yeah, I ran without socks.  It wasn't that bad but I did realize when I finished that my pinky toe was bleeding and I think I may have a new blister.

I originally planned on 5 miles and thought that I had set it for that distance, but apparently I must have hit something else because after nearly an hour of running, I realized that I was still going.  When I checked the distance (I always cover up the time when I run) it was almost at 5.5, so I just finished at that.  Wow, apparently I left my common sense in bed this morning.

Anyways, I stopped at the office in the morning.  I really feel like the time in my office is more like a "stopping by" because my job requires me to travel and be out ALL THE TIME.  I love it though, I really do.

I had to be at a school that was over an hour's drive, so I left work early and stopped at a cafe along the way for a quick cup of coffee and to shovel down some nourishment.

I packed what I thought would be quick, light (because it was an early lunch), but filling.  A Cereal Yogurt Bowl was my best option.

Raisin Bran, Oatmeal Squares, Banana and Blueberry Oikos with carrots and coffee.  A little random, but it worked.

And I made sure I had some snacks for later…

When I got home, I was pleasantly surprised with a phone call that my Murano was ready to be picked up.  Finally, she's back and better than ever!  Oh how I missed her.

When we got home from the dealership, Toly and I were both starving and so excited for Wednesday night BFD!

Especially because Breakfast Bowls were on the menu.  (Toly's Absolute Favorite!)

Another amazing BFD.

I just realized I ate 3 breakfasts today!  Good thing I love this meal so much. ;)

Question for the night:

This morning on the news, I heard that the FDA is implementing new regulations on the sodium and sugar amounts that manufactures are using in their products.  Americans are consuming more than twice the amount of the daily recommended sodium amounts and by placing federal restrictions on how much sodium a food can contain, they feel that they will be able to reduce the health problems and obesity status of our country.

Do you feel that the FDA should be able to instill regulations like this?

I am really on the fence about this.  I think it's definitely a good thing to place a stop or limit to detrimental health concerns; however, I also feel that this may be another way for the government to control this country.  People are going to make their own healthy or unhealthy decisions, regardless of if it's regulated or not.  But I also think that making changes like this would have a significant impact.

  1. Looks like a wonderful day of breakfasts to me :) I so want an egg bowl tomorrow night for dinner. I'm totally making one. haha forgot your socks. I've forgotten a sports bra before....yes...:) Glad the car is back- yayyy. I'm not sure how I feel about the FDA regulation. At one time, i want to say YES, very necessary. But on the other, I want to say all they've done is implement more and more and the country is still becoming more and more obese. Maybe there are other more important things to address?

  3. LOVE the day of breakfasts!!! I think we're going to need a BFD soon here...

I definitely think that the FDA should control the sodium/sugar in stuff. WHY should my broth have 56% of my sodium in it?

  4. Generally, I don't think the FDA should interfere b/c we should be responsible for making good food choices. I also fear that strict regulations will only encourage the creation of more "fake" salts and sugars and then nobody wins.

That said, much of America just doesn't know, or think, to look at labels and many of those people would very much benefit from salt and sugar reduction (as long as it's not replaced with FAKE salt and sugar!!)

  6. I love breakfast for lunch or dinner...I'd do it every day if I could, but they don't tend to have a lot of veggies! Yay for the car being done, I'll bet it's great to be back in your own again!

I think the FDA has a certain responsibility to keep us safe, so if a food contains an absurd amount of sodium, then it shouldn't be available. That being said, I don't think that things like canned soups and snacks should all become low sodium now...I think there's a line between an excessive amount and a dangerous amount, though it's difficult to determine what that amount is! Kind of a vague answer I know, haha :)

Hope you have a great day love!!

  7. breakfast - it IS my favorite meal of the day! therefore, each and everyone of your meals looks fabulous. i am on the fence about the FDA thing too. i wish people had enough damn common sense and morals not to make/consume these products in the first place. however, since that is not true, i do see the point in trying to help people. gah, people can be so infuriating sometimes :)

    love ya girl!

  8. I love that breakfast, too! Your AB wispies are so pretty.

I love this question. I think rather than BANNING certain foods flat-out, the government should focus more on EDUCATING people. Not everyone knows why it's important to keep your sodium intake low, or why trans fats are bad. Educate, educate!
