Fa La La La La

La La La La!!!

Yep, it has hit me. I'm officially in the Christmas spirit. As soon as Thanksgiving passes, I immediately hop on the Christmas bandwagon and begin to fully enjoy the next month of Christmas music, decorating, shopping and everything else that comes with this favored holiday.

This morning, I woke up anticipating to fit in one last long run for quite awhile. Since I will be having surgery this week, I won't logging any milestones next month, but I wanted to get in at least one more good one before I'm out.

I woke up praying that it wasn't raining and thankfully it wasn't raining; however, the hurricane winds were so strong that I could barely walk out my front door without being blown over. It didn't take me long to realize that this last run was going to have to be completed on the treadmill. It actually wasn't that bad. I did 10 miles in 1:25 min. I know many people would go crazy being on a machine that long, but truthfully, it was much better than running in the crazy cold wind gusts.

After I returned and cleaned myself up a bit, I was so hungry for breakfast.

Pineapple Banana Oats were exactly what I had in mind...
1/3 Cup Oats
1/2 Banana
1 t flax
1 t chia seeds
1/2 Cup Almond Milk

Topped with raspberries and a little granola. This bowl was very tasty and sweet. Maybe even a little too sweet, but barely.

Breakfast satisfied my overactive hunger quite well.

After breaks, we got ready to tackle our Christmas shopping of the season. I wanted to get as much as we could done now because I'm not really sure how much I will be able to do in the next few weeks.

We set out for the major stores and did surprising well. Really, this is the best we have ever done with our Christmas shopping. Only a few more things to get and were finished! :)

Surprising, I was starving by noon. Usually, after long runs, my appetite takes forever to catch up, but not today.

We found ourselves in the mood for a cozy little Panera lunch.

Hubby was quite content with the success of our shopping. I assure you he is usually pouting at this point in the shopping day, but today, he was all smiles!

When hubby is smiling during shopping, that makes me one happy girl. I was also quite happy to be enjoying a wonderful lunch at Panera. (You Pick 2, 1/2 Veggie Sammie and cup of Tomato soup made a perfect option!)

After we finished with our shopping, we came home and did some things around the house. I eventually uploaded all of my Christmas music on to my Ipod so now the Christmas songs will overflow our house and heads! (Hence, my title of this post!)
I was going to make something for dinner, but randomly, I became entirely interested in one of my unusual bowl creations. So I took most of the ingredients I had out for dinner, and threw them together "Lauren" style into a delicious bowl creation.

Roasted Kabocha, Broccoli, Red Onion, Artichoke, Sun Dried Tomato and Goat Cheese in a dressing of Balsamic and dijon on top of wilted spinach.
So unbelievable!!!
Toly had his favorite bowl creation of all time,
Fried Potato, Bacon, Sausage with Fried Egg and Cheese.
Denny's should add this to the menu for all of those hungry bacon lovin' boys out there. I'm sure it would do quite well. Toly can't get enough of it! ;)
Well, it's movie time. And in the spirit of the season, we are about to endeavour on a Christmas movie. How fitting! :)
Hope everyone is having a great weekend.

  4. YAY CHRISTMAS!!!!!!!!!! Being an elf is so much fun!
I totally agree with your "bowl" method of eating. It just tastes better in a bowl! (Cereal is the one exception. It tastes better in an oversize mug!)
