Take Me Out To The Ball Game

Nothing is more reminiscent of summer than a trip to the all American Baseball game. We spend all season watching countless games on TV, cheering on our beloved Phillies, but nothing beats getting out to the park and seeing the boys live and in action.

We got these tickets a few months ago from sweet Lindsey and took the opportunity to turn the game into an entire anniversary weekend trip.

Hearing that rain was a possibility this weekend, we felt quite fortunate that yesterday afternoon turned out in our favor. The sun was shining and not a cloud in site. That is, until we pulled up to the park at 6pm. As soon as we turned into the stadium, a dark, threatening cloud hovered over the field and we knew that this could not be good.

About 5 min. later, our premonitions turned into reality. Torrential downpour!!!! Haha, fortunately, the announcer told everyone that this storm would be short lived and that we would still get to see the game with just a slight delay.

Pre-gaming, a little wet, but it didn't stop us from getting pumped....

And the rain also didn't stop me from one of my favorite reasons to come to Citizen's Bank Park...The Food!!

In all my experiences with sports game fare, I must say, Citizens Bank Park has hands and feet and toes down, the very best food. Aside from the ever so traditional Philly Cheesesteak, Chickie's and Petes Crabby Fries, and the world famous Bulls BBQ, what other ballpark do you know that sells vegan hot dogs and burgers?

Aside from all of these delectable choices, Planet Hoagie still holds precedent to my heart with the ever so delicious veggie wrap. (Broccoli Rabe, Grilled Eggplant, Roasted Red Pepper, and hummus) It's amazing!

Okay, so not the most attractive picture, but trust me, this is one of those things you just attack full force. It's just that good!

Lucky for us (and the rest of the millions of people who paid for the game) the rain let up right as the game was scheduled to start.

Unlucky for the Phillies, the delay seemed to put them in an off night because it was a little painful.

Oh well, win or loose, we still love you Phils. And for all of you non-philly fans out there, just remember.....WORLD CHAMPIONS!!!! :)

Well that wraps up our great Philly Weekend trip. Such a fun filled 2 days and a perfect way to spend our first anniversary, being together, doing the things in life we love the most.
Hope you all had a wonderful weekend! I can't wait to read all about them.
