Everything Sweet Must Come To An End

Hi guys!

I’ve been thoroughly enjoying reading many of your 1st day of school posts. It hasn’t been too long since I’ve been out of school so I can remember those all too familiar feelings of excitement, anxiousness, and trepidation. Sounds like most of you are all having positive experiences thus far, so that is wonderful to read.

This time of year summons so many reminiscent emotions. I honestly can not fathom that fall is literally around the corner and pretty soon, gone will be the days of the freshest sweetest fruit and seasonal berries. With that sad thought in mind, I find myself shoveling prolific amounts of fruit into my diet every day, knowing that in just a few weeks, this ideal time of year will end. Needless to say, I felt opt to add just a few more berries into my glorious bowl of goodness this morning…..

I love these summer breakfast bowls and can’t seem to get enough of them these days….

In my pretty daisy bowl this morning....

  • ¼ Cup of Kashi Go Lean Crunch (soaked in a splash of Almond Milk, because I find this cereal too brittle without the added sogginess)
  • ¼ Cup of Organic Valley Cinnamon Squares (thinking of my girl Kristin because we both love this so much!)
  • 1 spoon of ground flax
  • ½ of a nectarine
  • 1 small kiwi (skin and all)
  • Blue/Black berries
  • Vanilla Okios

And just to add a little icing on the cake, a scant piece of crumbly fresh peach bread (totally necessary, this bread is nothing short of amazing!)

Two words come to mind after eating this…. Scrumptiously Fulfilling!

Other news: In an attempt to be as financially sound as we can be with our upcoming European cruise, Toly and I have decided to start saving now. We are going to start putting aside $50 a week and whatever other extra income we can. Things like tax rebates, Christmas presents, etc…all will go to help fund our extravagant vacay next year. We figure if we are able to do this, we will be able to pay for a bulk of the trip. This gets me even more geared up of course.

But in order to build up that vacation account, one must put in the hours at the grind. Today, those hours flew by. Twas quite an eventful day and before I knew it, the day was over. (Love when that happens!)

I had lunch with a good friend. Isaac’s Deli was having a Customer Appreciation day, so your check was 50% off. Great deal, but apparently all of South central PA thought so too because it was mass chaos in this pocket-sized restaurant.

Say "Hi" Jill, you're on my blog!

I always enjoy Isaacs for a good lunch and they usually deliver some tasty sandwich and salad options. I ordered the Mediterranean Salad (Greens, Spinach, Tomatoes, Cucumber, Artichokes, Green Olives, feta and sprouts) but also added a Black Bean burger. Of course, the black bean burger was forgotten and after I politely reminded the waitress, she proceeded to let out a major huff followed by a rather intrusive snapping of her finger directly in my face. (No joke!!!!) I don’t think I have ever had someone snap their fingers in my face, especially someone who was supposed to earning their paycheck by how I measured their level of service.

Oh my, what a fiasco, but it was good to catch up with my friend and my salad was pretty tasty regardless. The rest of the day was just as fanatical and my hubby’s day was quite similar.

Good thing the evening was a bit more relaxed.

We unwound from our crazy days by pumping some iron at the gym and then over a calming dinner out on the patio.

On the menu: Burgers and Fries

His burger: Bacon Cheeseburger

Her burger: Grilled Portobello with pesto, grilled asparagus, roasted red pepper, red onion, avacado and a little feta (cause everythings betta!) Along with some grilled sweet potato rounds and a quick tomato/basil salad.

Wow, this "burger" was AHHHH-MA-ZING! Just imagine the freshest most delectable veggie burger.

Wish I didn’t finish the wine from the weekend, because tonight would have been a good vino night! ;)

Alright, well I'm out. Until tomorrow loves!

  5. Portobello plus avocado in a burger!? Whaaat!? I cannot believe that girl snapped her fingers...you did nothing wrong! And even IF you did, no one should ever snap their fingers in anyone's face. That's just rude and disrespectful.
