How Do You Eat Ice Cream?

Well another day down means a little less swelling. It’s definitely getting better, but sad to say, I will still look like a chipmunk going back to work today.

It actually felt nice to get back into my “normal” routine today. I woke up early and ran 5 miles. It felt great! I finally feel like I am getting my energy back which is wonderful.
It also felt nice to actually get dressed. For the past 5 days, I’ve been lounging around in sweats with no make-up and crazy hair, so putting on a nice outfit actually made me feel a little normal again.

Work was of course, crazy busy. I have a lot to catch up on, but I don’t mind because it keeps my mind off of everything.

Here is a fun food for thought. As I was reading my magazine over lunch, I came across a little tidbit on the effects of how one eats ice cream. (This particularly struck my attention because over the past week, I probably have eaten my weight in ice cream) Apparently, your brain and mouth enjoy the experience more if you choose to lick the ice cream from a cone rather than from a spoon. I guess when the ice cream hits the spoon, some of the natural endorphins from the sugars are lost and left on the plastic. You feel more satisfied by licking the frozen treat and are sure to soak up all of the sugary goodness if you go for the cone.
Ha, I never thought of it that way. I myself, enjoy the cone. Especially if it’s soft serve. I just think eating ice cream tastes better when you lick it from a cone.

What about you? Are you a cone or dish ice cream eater??

I actually felt more energized today than any other, so Toly and I decided to hit up the gym for an after-work workout. It feels great to work out again. My body has felt like jell-o and I know that my lack of exercise is one reason why I’ve been so tired. Honestly guys, this is why I can’t preach enough on the great benefits from exercising every day. You will feel 1000X better and have so much more noticeable energy. Even as much as getting out for a walk every day will do amazing things to your body and energy levels.

We had a very nice sweaty workout together and afterwards, cooled down with a casual stroll around the neighborhood loop.

To get off topic for just a second, I must take a moment to tell you all how I have the BEST HUSBAND in the entire world. Toly has been truly amazing, taking care of me as I recover through this crap. He number one concern is that I was comfortable and in no pain and he went so far out of his way to make me feel the best I could. He knew that little things would bother me, like dirty dishes, and unmade beds, so before I could even notice, every dish was washed, the bed was always made and anything I needed, he got without a second hesitation. It has been such a comfort to have my best friend by my side and makes all of the pain and uncomfort a little easier.
Well, for sicker or poorer, till death do us part, he is definitely living up to these vows.

Thanks Baby for being the absolute best hubby any girl could ever ask for!

Okay, now that I got that off my chest, on to dinner this evening. Dinner is usually quick and easy on Tuesday and Thursday nights because by the time we get home from the gym, it’s getting pretty late. I was so happy to have some white chili that my mom made for us to heat up.
I love this recipe. I always take out my chicken and give the extra to Toly so it makes a nice vegetarian dish.

I also put together some quesadillas to go with the chili.

Mine was scrumptious-

Black Beans, Spinach, Mango and Goat Cheese

Toly’s was a simple cheesy-dilla. (I figured he had enough chicken from the chili, or else I would normally add some kind of protein)

This meal was delightful. Nice and summery on a warm June evening. Oh and bonus that chili is easy on the gums but yet still has so much nutrients, protein and fiber.
Thanks Mom! :)

Well I must make it to bed early tonight. I had a hard time falling asleep last night for some reason, and didn’t get nearly enough rest.

Hope you enjoyed your Tuesday!
