I was able to get to bed at a very sensible time last night and woke up feeling slightly better this morning, which is a good sign. Thanks for all of your advice on tackling the early stages of a cold. Hopefully, I am able to kick this thing before it truly begins. I am hoping that plenty of water and rest is the only remedy I need, but I just may resort to drugs if need be. I try to hold out as long as I possibly can until I start on the meds.
My mission of produce purging has been going very well. I’m definitely making a significant dent in the vegetable drawer and most of the fruit is being consumed a few times a day. I really hate to waste food (especially produce) so it’s important that I refrain from buying more this week. I just need to go to the store with the mentally of walking out ONLY with the few things we need to get through the next couple of days. Easier said than done though! Last night, I noticed a slightly overripe pear in the fruit basket. It was nearing the browning stages, but definitely still consumable. I couldn’t bear to see this guy go to waste, so I came up with the fabulous idea of incorporating it into a lovely little dessert.
Check out these adorable mugs I got for my birthday from my sister. As soon as I saw these on Lindsey's page, I fell in love! I told my sister about them and my brother-in-law actually found them at a radom little local bookstore. Thanks LC for the great idea, Toly and I will be using these quite often.
Since the last few BFD’s have been eggs, I was feeling more the sweet route tonight with some French toast. I made an Almond French Toast topped with strawberries that were marinated in a touch of honey and coconut (this flavor combination is AWESOME, by the way!) We also heated up some turkey sausage to balance out the sweetness of the meal.
There is nothing more satisfying than eating breakfast in your PJ’s for dinner, especially when it’s gloomy and grey.
Tomorrow is Thursday already! Thank goodness this week is coming to an end. That means our CA trip is just that much closer! :)

It's been WAY too long since I've had french toast - it just might be on the horizon ;) The pumpkin pear butter sounds yummy!
ReplyDeleteGood thing April showers bring May flowers, huh?? : )

I love those mugs, too, ever since I saw them on Lindsey's blog!
Hope you have a wonderful Thursday!! : )
love those mugs, they're the best!!
ReplyDeleteAnd I really need to try more fruit butters. I've only tried apple butter, one my SIL gave us for Christmas...which we used Christmas morning and forget to bring home with us!
Love that Emerson quote!
How cute are those mugs! What bookstore did you find them at?
