Friday Night Games, Saturday Morning Business

Yeah for the weekend! Another fantastic weekend has arrived and we have a good mix of friends, family, time together, and relaxing planned.
We started it off last evening with the friends part. It was pizza and game night at Jen and Brian's house and what a more enjoyable way to spend our Friday night than with our good friends. We joined them for a wonderful homemade pizza dinner (made by Jen) and of course, Connor provided much of the entertainment throughout the meal. He also thrilled to show Toly and I his new "big boy" bed that he recently transitioned into this week. He's nearly ready to take on the big brother role in a few months and now that he has willingly given up his crib for the new baby, I'd say he's on the right track for being a fantastic older bro!

After dinner and once Connor was in bed, we broke out the good old deck on UNO cards. Ironically, none of us could really remember exactly how to play but we eventually got the idea after a quick practice round. The friendly game quickly turned into a competitive brawl but needless to say, Toly and I triumphed over Jen and Brian pulling off a fabulous UNO victory!
Quite fun!

Around 9:30, I was all out of steam and hit the pillow as soon as we walked in the door. This morning was beautiful, the sun was shinning and warmed up the entire house. (I love when that happens!) I decided to start to get straight down to business this morning, with a good house cleaning. I did take a break to make myself a wonderful bowl of scrumptious pumpkin oats. I just had to photograph this one because I was quite proud of the turn out.

My bowl contained....
  • 1/2 C Oats
  • 1/2 banana
  • Cinnamon, pumpkin pie spice, brown sugar
  • a few spoonfuls of pumpkin
  • And a beautiful array of toppings: Crumbled ginger bread, blackberries and blueberries with a splash of Vanilla soy milk and a spoonful of pumpkin butter

In the famous words of Rachel Ray...YUM-O!

The rest of the day entails ZUMBA in a few minutes, errands with the husband, a late afternoon movie and dinner out later. (This is where the time together comes in)

Hope you all have a wonderful Saturday!!!
