Birthday Party and Superbowl Weekend

It astounds me how quickly the weekends pass. It seems as though we spend all week waiting anxiously for those 2 days where we are not tied down to company rules and are actually able to take a break from the fake smiles and butt kissing for 8 hours a day. There is nothing I love more than knowing that I am able to wake up without having a serious schedule or people to report to. Oh how I do love the weekends.

This weekend was fairly laid back in our house. I always love when we can start a weekend off with a Friday night of sitting on the couch and watching one of our favorite shows "Friday Night Lights."

Saturday, I had my ZUMBA class in the morning. If you haven't heard of zumba, its a dance cardio workout that is Latin inspired. It's basically an hour of shaking your butt with some hard core salsa inspired dance moves....so much fun! After class, we had a birthday to attend. Our friend's daughter turned 2 so we spent a few hours celebrating her big day! Julia (the b-day girl) had a great time opening presents and eating her Elmo cake. Our nephew, Connor, was also on the guest list and was quite the party animal! He loved playing with new toddlers and all of their exciting toys...and of course, any opportunity to eat cake is worth the trip. :)

Today we geared up for the Superbowl. Even though neither Toly or I were really that enthralled with the teams this year(especially after the devastating defeat of our Eagles), it's still the Superbowl and worth recognizing. We decided it was a good time to have the in-laws over. I made us all a nice dinner and we managed to polish off a bottle of wine that we got a few weeks ago from the Fingerlakes. (It was delicious!)

All in all, a good weekend. Now just 5 more days until the next one. We do have a few things planned this week which should break it up a little. Friends are coming over for dinner, lunch plans with dad, gym nights with the hubby, and our line-up on TV is back from the weird repeat week...thank goodness! Oh and I guess we are expecting a snow storm somewhere in the week as well...hmm good thing we finally bought a shovel this weekend. Hope everyone had a great weekend and best wishes for a wonderful week.
