When Will It End????

I had every intention of beginning this post on an upbeat note, because that would be how you would expect to read the beginning of most of my posts.

The truth is, I'm feeling frustrated, stressed and discouraged.

I don't want to get into the details but let's just say, building a house is NOT an easy process.  We are so close to the end and then one little thing goes wrong and it's like a domino effect.  Everything is still fine, don't worry, Toly and I are just at our wits end and if we hear one more thing that didn't happen when it was supposed to happen we are going to loose it.

Anyways, let's not get wrapped up in that….

Breakfast this morning was a big bowl of cereal.

Kashi Go Lean, Millet Flakes, Oatmeal Squares, Banana Coconut Bread, Banana, Raspberries, Almond Milk

I just LOVE adding muffins to cereal.  I know most people hate mushy cereal but I actually prefer it. The muffin makes the ultimate mushy mess in your morning bowl of cereal.  It's fantastic!

We got that snow they were calling for.  It really wasn't too bad but bad enough to cancel schools so naturally, my day was all turned around.

I had an appointment late morning but when I got there, the person who I was meeting with was with a client and asked if I would mind coming back in about 30 min.

I really didn't have anything else to do since my schedule had been cleared so I didn't mind waiting.  It was only 11:30am and I could tell I was starting to get hungry.  I did bring my lunch and planned to eat it when I got back into the office but I knew it wouldn't be for awhile now so I decided to take an early lunch and popped into a nearby cafe for something light.

Veggie Wrap: Spinach, Tomatoes, Avocado, Sprouts, Hummus

This was simple but delicious!  I'm not sure what kind of wrap they used but it was the best I've ever had, so soft and chewy and nutty.  I was going to eat 1/2 and take the other 1/2 with me for later but once I finished the first 1/2, I really wanted the second.  The pasta salad they served on the side was good, but I was too full from the wrap to eat it.  I took a few bites and got rid of the rest.

I was happy to be done with work and decided to take some frustration out on the treadmill.  Many times, I run to relieve stress.  I don't worry about my speed or inclines or anything else.  I simply zone out and go.  Tonight was one of those nights.  I ran for about 45 min and covered a little over 5 miles.

For dinner tonight, I did an attempt on the Grilled Salmon Avocado Citrus Salad I had for lunch last Friday. Only I did make quite a few changes  improvements.

First, I used a crab cake instead of the salmon.  I added roasted asparagus, beets, sliced pear, chic peas, grapefruit and feta cheese.

I think I did a pretty good job.  Superb salad!

I'm going to end tonight on a positive note……

Yeah…that always makes me smile. ;)

What was the best part about your day? Mine was hugging my husband.  I really needed that hug. ;)

  2. Ugh- I totally feel for you. Building a house can be filled with so many ups and downs. Just focus on how fabulous your new place will be once all this craziness is through!! Y'all have gotten so hammered with snow this year- ridiculous. Your dinner salad looks amazing. I have crab cakes on the menu for next week and cannot wait.

  3. I have had one of those days too girlie! I'm so sorry that house building is stressful - it WILLe end and you will soon be on the couch relaxing with TOly! I remember last year when we were renovating our house, there were so many nights where Johnny would sit in the spot where our couches were going to go and say, "I can't wait to just sit on our couch, relax, and watch tv." Then the first night that happened, I called it out, and we couldn't both help but smile. :)

  5. Still house drama? Same drama? Let's just decide to believe that good things come to those who wait. My good part of the day was having no where to be this evening!

  8. Mine was hugging my hubby when he got home (the kids were driving me nuts today!) and the wine I'm drinking right now : )

That wrap looks really good! I've been looking for a brand of whole wheat wraps that are chewy and soft. Any suggestions?

  16. Thinking of you, Lauren! My parents built a house a little over two years ago. My mom was actually the contractor so she basically was in charge of sourcing materials, etc. - everything, haha - to cut back on costs. I completely understand how stressful things can get and please know you always have an ear over here if you ever want to vent!

    Muffin on cereal? Yes. :)
