Always a Romantic

Hey guys!

I'm so happy you all liked the little Fairytale love post I put up yesterday.  To address some of your questions….

Toly and I started dating when we were in 11th grade but we had been good friends for a few years before that.  We've actually known each other since Junior High and we were usually in the same homeroom because our lasts names were close in the alphabet.

This was our ninth Valentine's Day together and I still remember our first. Well, we actually were not dating yet but I still count this as our first.  Toly was dating one of my friends but they had just broken up a day or so before.  He was actually pretty bummed about it all so I decided I would try to cheer him up and took him out to lunch.  When I got to the restaurant, I saw him sitting at the table with a red carnation.  Even though we were "just friends" (yeah we played that card for awhile) I thought he was the most romantic and sweetest guy I ever met.

PS- We started dating a few months later……

Okay, enough of all of the love talk, there are more important things to get to.

Like breakfast obviously.

1/4 C Cinnamon Cheerios, 1/4 Cup Kashi Go Lean, Peach Chobani, Blackberries, Blueberries, Cinnamon Raisin Bread Piece with PB

I know I've said this before, but if you ever have trouble putting peanut butter into your cereal, just try to add a little to a slice of bread or muffin and crumble it on top. You get the best of both worlds.  It's truly a mind blowing experience.

I had a scheduled G-Chat appointment with Meghann this morning to go over some consulting on company twitter accounts.  A HUGE thanks to Meghann for spending nearly an hour of her day enlightening me.

My co-worker and I decided to do the research at a coffee shop since our office doesn't access certain social media sites, such as twitter.

After our convo and some work, we decided to grab some lunch.

Since we happened to be at Cornerstone lunch was an easy choice.

I ordered my usual Veggie Wrap.

Which came with another beautiful salad.

So good!  And again, 1/2 is saved for tomorrow's lunch.

The afternoon flew by and before I knew it, I was at the gym getting my run on.  For some reason, today I was feeling a challenge.  I was feeling a long run.  The Cherry Blossom Race is coming up rather quickly and I haven't pushed myself for a long run in awhile.  After 1:20min, I had completed a little over 9 miles and felt great!

I can't wait to run outside again.  The weather is finally getting nicer so this may be happening sooner than later.

I got home from the gym ready to eat my hand so I got right to making dinner.

With spring like temps this afternoon, all I wanted was a big refreshing salad.

Salad: Romaine, Baby Spinach, Purple Cabbage, Peppers, Avocado, Grilled Asparagus, Pineapple, Kiwi, Tj's Mahi Mahi burger with Teriyaki

I made a discovery tonight.

Broccoli and cottage cheese is fantastic!

And that was today.

Something to Read:  Truvia or Splenda- Ever wonder what is better? Click Here to read more…..

I'm actually a truvia fan myself.  Or Stevia.  Whichever is one sale.

  2. Gotta love Meghann! She is super sweet & helpful. What a beautiful dinner! Avocado and all the fruit! YUM! And your grapefruit at breakfast makes me want to run out and buy some! I'm trying to avoid all no calorie sweeteners right now, but I still have them every once in a while. For pregnancy, they recommend splenda right now since they don't know enough about truvia, but only 1 serving per day!

  3. I think that your partner should be your best friend, so I am not surprised you and Toly were friends before you started dating! The friendship builds a strong foundation. I love stevia since I stay away from artifical sweeteners!

  4. I used to be a Splenda addict - now I wouldn't' touch the stuff with a ten foot pole (make that a 30 foot pole)!!!

  7. I avoid splenda because it is like eating chemicals and truvia gives me stomach aches because of the sugar alcohol. I guess I'm out of luck!

  9. That is the cutest story of you and Toly! I think it's so sweet that you've known each other for so long. I used to drink diet pop (or soda -- I'm from Pittsburgh :) but now I really don't use artificial sweeteners - just Stevia!

  11. I love Truvia- definitely my favorite sweetener. Sipping on some tea with it right now, actually! I wish Zevia weren't so darn expensive though, because I love soda.

  12. Lauren,

You look heavier in your pictures in the past. How did you lose so much weight? I know you said that you are naturally thin but looking at your family it doesn't seem that this is true.
