Ch-Ch-Changes!

Lately, I've been fascinated with the changes people have been making.  I'm not sure if it's just the time of year when ambitions are high, but it seems as though many people are taking risks, leaps of faith, and following their hearts to do what they know is right for them and their bodies.

My heart has been weighing some pretty heavy contemplations on changes I am thinking about as well, but I'll save that conversation for another day.

On a lighter note, one change I've been toying with is my hair.  I know, I know, it sounds so medial, but I just think I need a change.  I've been sporting this style for years now and although I like it, I'm wondering what else I can do. Any suggestions?

Breakfast is one area of my life that needs no changes.  It's always the highlight of my entire day.

1/4 Cup TJ's Honey Almond Flax Cereal, Handful of Cinnamon Puffins, 1/2 Green Apple, Blackberries, Vanilla Chobani, Cinnamon Raisin PB, Sprinkle of Granola

 I love my mornings!

I was out for most of the morning and had some time in between meetings to stop at home for lunch.

It's so much nicer to make up a leftover salad at home than to eat out of a tupperware container.  It's much prettier.
This salad consisted of leftover squash and brussels from last night, small pear, leftover pecan rice, beets, and pepitas. I also toasted 1/2 a cinnamon raisin english muffin with LC blue cheese and walnut fig preserves.

I went back to work and ended up working late.  Skipped the gym because by the time I left, it was already reaching dinner time and I was hungry and still needed to stop at the store.

Priorities!  Just so you know, food always wins, no matter what the situation is.

Dinner tonight was a Smoky Refried Bean Soup that I adapted from FatFreevegan Kitchen.

You can find the original recipe here.  And now that I look at it, I realize I didn't change a thing.  Wow, go me!  I didn't even look at the recipe, it was purely from memory.

Regardless to the changes you make, this soup is delicious!

I paired a bowl with a slice of my Pumpkin Cornbread.  Best recipe in the world and even Toly agrees.  One box on Natural Corn Bread Mix, 2/3 Cup Almond Milk, 1/2 Cup canned pumpkin.

I realize I eat a lot of soup and a lot of salads.  I'm feeling some variety in my life.  Sushi this weekend is in order!

What changes have you made this year? As I've mentioned, I'm working on mine.  I still have a bit more thinking to do before I reach a definite decision.

  2. I just got a haircut yesterday, I got long layers and angles in the front. I think your haircut frames your face nicely, but if you're looking for a change you could dye it darker. I know lots of ladies dye their hair darker in the winter. Or maybe get blunt, straight bangs instead of side bangs? I think you will look gorgeous no matter what you decide!

  3. Your hair is cute already! Maybe you could try to do it longer. I'm no help because I've had my same hair cut for years, too! : )

  7. your hair looks great! but i am always gonna say, a few blond highlights just make the world go round :) I am partial tho...but just a few, I think you'd look even hotter than you already do! But your hair is already cute! Just don't cut it...I love long hair, that's my total honest opinion!

  9. There have been quite a few change related blog posts this week! I guess its that time of year when people are exploring what works for them & makes them happy. Loving the grapes on your salad plate (so yummy- I just ate some ;)). And that soup sounds easy and tasty. Happy Friday. I can't wait for this weekend to start!

  10. I think your hair is adorable as is, but you could always try some highlights or lowlights!! They're fun and change up the look without any "ohmygodwhatdidido" moments.

No big changes yet this year, but I think my life is going to make a complete 180* when I graduate this spring!

  11. It's definitely that time of year where everyone seems to want to do some changes. I have been growing my hair long... and my roots are half way down my head.. not really but you know. I definitely think I want to go to one solid color. I cant keep up on the coloring.
