Trick-or-Treat, Jersey Style!

I always enjoyed Halloween.  I remember distinctly as a child going out to pick out my costume every year.  My mom would tell me I could choose any costume I wanted, as long as it wasn't a witch.  I was never allowed to be a witch for some reason.  I guess it didn't really matter to me because I was never into the whole scary, gory, or evil essence of the holiday.  I was more excited to be the princess or the bride or one year, I think I was a gypsy which was pretty cool.

As a child, Halloween was a reason to play dress up.  Now, I think most people my age see Halloween as a reason to wear as little clothing as possible without it being publicly indecent and acting like a complete fool for a day.  It's a blast!

Every year our company puts on a big to-do about Halloween.  Every department has to pick and theme and dress up and decorate.  We really go all out because it does happen to be our CEO's favorite holiday.

Being that most of my department is comprised of young, crazy, corrupt, young adults, we decided the most fitting theme would be none other than The Jersey Shore!

Oh my, it was a blast! Everyone seemed to get a kick out of our club scene and walking around talking like a Jersey tramp all day was extremely entertaining.

I did have some real work I had to do today though, so unfortunately, the jersey play had to end before lunch but it was fun while it lasted.

Before entering GTL world, I did have a fairly normal morning.

It started with overnight oats.

And lunch was eaten basically in my car on the way to a meeting.

So I know that you are all used to seeing BFD on Wednesday nights but I have to let you know that there is going to be a change in the regular BFD schedule.  You see, on Wednesday's, my parents have church group at their house, so Toly and I have decided that we will use this as an excuse to have date night once a week.

Tonight, being the first, we decided to go grab a bite at our favorite go-to restaurant/bar.  Toly wanted a burger and I wanted a salad and this place has both and delicious choices for both.

But when I got there, I suddenly didn't want a salad anymore.  The Tuscan Tuna Wrap sounded so much more enticing.

I did get a side caesar salad on the side.  It's funny because I usually don't care of caesar salad but it just sounded so good with this kind of wrap.  And it was.  The wrap was delicious!  Rare seared tuna, red pepper, cucumber, capers, parsley, arugula in a lemon herb vinaigrette (which I got on the side).

It was a good choice.

After dinner, we hit the mall.  I was in need of some new blouses to go under my suit.  There are many big events coming up for me so it was time for some new clothes.

Well, that's all for today. It's pretty late and way past my bedtime.

Goodnight Guidettes! :)

  1. Haha, looks like you guys had a great time! : )

My most memorable Halloween costume as a little girl was a tube of toothpaste, ha. My mom sewed the bottom part that said "toothpaste" and I wore a lamp shade for the cap, it was cute.
