The Beauty of Failing

"It is impossible to live without failing at something, unless you live so cautiously that you might as well not have lived at all – in which case, you fail by default."
~J.K. Rowling

I heard this quote on Oprah today and I couldn't get it out of my mind.  Aside from it being an extremely compelling interview, I was actually drawn to Rowling and her entire story.  I was never really into the Harry Potter books or movies so I didn't really find interest in the creator, but I was truly impressed at what an exquisite woman J.K Rowling really is.

A beautiful woman with beautiful insight who uses the power of words to share this insight with the world.  My kind of role model. :)

Something about me that you may not know, I am a quote junkie!  I love words and I love when someone puts them together to create a sentence or two that truly evokes meaning, sentiment, and purpose.  Maybe I will start to post a daily quote on SWYNTS.  If not for your enjoyment, for the mere pleasure of my own passion in forcing myself to discover new words each day.

Okay, moving on now.

In other news, Say What You Need To Say now has it's own Facebook Page.  Please become it's friend and "Like" it. It needs friends. :)

The day began with a celebration of Waffle Friday.  I told Janetha that I too have picked up on her Waffle Wednesday tradition only I always save my waffles for Friday.  They just seem more enjoyable to me on a Friday.  I contemplated switching this to Flapjack Friday in order to compete with the cute alliteration, but let's face it, who has time to make pancakes on a weekday.  Nature's Path frozen waffles are just as good and totally more realistic when you are on a time limit.

Hot coffee today.  Could this mean that they days of Iced coffee have ceased?  Maybe, maybe not.  We'll see what the weather man says for October.

I had a meeting over my normal lunch hour, so by the time I came home to let out Sammy and make my own meal, I was starved!

I made such an incredible 1/2 sandwich that was inspired by a few recipes I saw earlier this week.

1 slice of Apple Cider Bread, Pear, Apple Chutney, Blue Cheese LC Wedge, Dijon

On the side, I made a magnificent salad with the rest of the pear, microwaved brussels sprouts, avocado, cranberries, zucchini, and balsamic glaze.

After work, I talked myself into a quick gym session.  I had a lot to do at home, but I was really feeling a run and I knew I wouldn't have the chance to run all weekend.  Just 3 miles and some weights and then it was home to pack.

In case you forgot, I am leaving tomorrow morning for Baltimore to attend the annual AAAI/ISMA Conference to get my Personal Fitness Trainer Certification.  Words can not describe how excited I am about this!

After packing and cleaning a bit, dinner was also later.  I guess my later lunch was to blame for that.

These are my favorite baked beans ever!

And this would be my new favorite way to eat these beans…..

Inside half of a roasted Kabocha squash.  My heart stopped.

And just to see how much fiber I could possibly intake before exploding, I thought I would eat up the rest of the brussels sprouts and some broccoli.

The fact that I eat my roasted broccoli and sprouts with ketchup kind of grosses people out.  And by people I mean the general public, not my eclectic group of foodie blog friends. I know you all don't think  this is weird. :)

Well I still have much to do before my early wake up call tomorrow.

I won't see you for a few days so take care and be well!  I'll be back soon! :)
