Adjust Accordingly

There are a few things that I really love about waking up at my parents.

One.  The TV choices are much better during my workout.  They have so many more channels which is definitely nice.  I was getting sick of The Nanny but that is about the only thing on at 4am. Now, I have options. George Lopez, Family Matters, The Cooking Channel.

Two. the shower pressure.  I forgot how intense the water pressure was here and it makes quite a delightful shower.

Now, there are also a few things that I'll need to adjust to.

One. The lighting.  It's a little more dim than my food photos are use to and I fear they are going to lack. My Dad does have an SLR though, so I might need to give that a try.

Two. The extra 5 minutes it takes me to get to work.  I was very spoiled with only having a one mile commute.  Not that it's much further, but the extra 5 min really throws off my routine.

I'll make it work though.

Today's breakfast included a new Nut Butter.  I know what you're thinking, why in the world would I purchase another jar of peanut butter when I brought 16 jars with me?  Well, in my defense, I did knock down 3 before moving in here and this one just called my name as I passed it.

Banana Peanut Butter?  SOLD!

I used the peanut butter in today's bowl of course.

1/4 C Total Raisin Bran, 1/4 C Oat Squares, Blueberry Chobani, 1/2 Banana, Blueberries, 1/2 Banan Nut Vita Top with the new peanut butter

My mom likes to decorate with the change of each season.  This is not something I can ever see myself doing (I think putting up a Christmas tree is more than enough) but it is nice to enjoy so long as I'm not the one decorating.

Work went by today without much excitement until the end. I worked in the office all day long and ate right at my desk (Insert Amy's Frozen Meal here).

I was going to go to the gym to run, but a meeting came up and then we met with our builder and relator so my run was sacrificed.  Not gonna lie, I'm actually happy because I'm still feeling pretty exhausted.  This weekend took a lot out of me.

We didn't end up getting home from our meeting until after 6:30pm so by 7pm, we were both starving for dinner.  Thank goodness for leftovers!

Some of you asked me about the cooking situation now that we are staying with my parents and if I would still be preparing meals.  To answer this, yes, I do plan on cooking, but it's going to a bit different than our usual schedule.  I love to cook and I definitely plan to make some fantastic meals for the entire family and my mom and dad both love to cook too so I'm sure they will cook meals as well.  But then the four of us all have very busy schedules and we are obviously not on the same schedules so it won't be an every day thing.  Some nights, I will cook for just me and Toly, some nights we will all have a big family dinner, and some nights, it will be eating leftovers or on the go.  We make it work and we're always happy and well fed, that's the most important thing.

I'm hoping for some normalcy soon, but this week is going to be another crazy one.  Aside from being slammed at work, we will have not one, but 2 settlements and more than likely on the same day!

I'm already counting down the minutes until Friday.  It's even a Girls Night at Jen's! Can NOT wait!!!

Geeze, it's almost time for bed.

Goodnight! :)

  5. I have the same feelings about my parent's television selection. We don't even have a TV, so I so enjoy going home and watching Food Network. I'm glad that you are settling into your parent's house. I'm praying that it will be a joy and peace-filled time.

  7. My parents have the best TV channels too. It makes time on the elliptical just fly by!! They also have way better lighting, but I think anything beats lighting in NYC apartments :) Hope you have a great day!!
