Daddy's Little Girl

Happy Fathers Day!

To one of the most inspiring, humble, and kind hearted man that I know, I will forever be your little girl. You've taught me the most valuable life lessons, you've showed me that generosity and righteousness go hand in hand, and you continue to support and love me for who I am and everything that I have and will become.

I love you Dad!

And to all of your dad's and husband's who are dad's, Happy Fathers Day!

In order of Dad's Day, we had my parent's over for an afternoon BBQ.

But first, we had breakfast.

Stuffed Banana French Toast

Two slices of Cinnamon Raisin Bread, 1tsp of Mighty Maple PB, 1/2 Mashed Banana dipped in almond milk, egg whites and cinnamon and grilled.  Then topped with banana slices and blackberries

Welcome to Sunday Morning Breakfast in our household.  It's truly a pleasure!

Toly's french toast was stuffed with cream cheese, peach jam, and fresh peaches.

After we ate, we spent the rest of the morning, cleaning and getting things ready for our cookout. After a few hours, everything was ready and we had some time to chill outside and work on our tans.

And when I say we, I mean the whole family!

Yes, Sammy loves to sun bath.  All this dog needs is a drink with an umbrella and he's got it made.

My parents arrived a little later and we fired up the grill.

On the menu, all of dad's favorites!

Grilled Sausages
Mini Burger Sliders
Grilled Corn on the Cob
Pasta Salad
Watermelon

I made everything ahead of time so all we had to do was throw it on the grill and lunch was ready in no time.  My pasta salad was a simple tomato, basil, feta and olives dressed in a sun dried tomato vinaigrette.

Everything was delicious!  Perfect summer lunch.

Look who's started food photographing!  Ever since he got a new SLR, he has been even more camera happy than usual. It's totally normal that everyone in my family not only understands my need to photograph my food, but now they are even joining in with the hobby.

For dessert, I made brownies that actually came out quite tasty, considering I have no skills in the baking department.

My Dad also brought some of his famous homemade Peanut Butter Fudge. This stuff should be illegal!

We spent the remainder of the day lying on the couch, watching the phillies and movies.  It was so relaxing and wonderful.  And it was also so great to just spend the day with my Dad.  We are both so busy these days that it's hard for us to have days where we can just hang out and do nothing.

Even Sammy was feeling rather sentimental and showing the love for Dad.

Such a great afternoon.

Later on, we decided to heat up the leftovers for lunch and had a light dinner.  I had Toly grill some veggies and I threw them on a quick salad of Aruguala, Balsamic, and a little pasta salad.

We also managed to polish off 1/2 a watermelon.  I really think if I had to, I could eat an entire watermelon in one sitting.  Who am I kidding, even if I didn't have, I could still do it.  Just dare me! :)

Overall, a wonderful weekend!  I am loving summer so much and enjoying the long days, hot sun, and amazing food that it entails.

Hope to start the week off right! :) Goodnight!
