So Many Products, So Many Thoughts

Frist things first, I need to give major props to my Phils for sweeping the Rockeys last night. We're on to take the Dodgers in the NLC's and all I can say to all your Dodger fans out there is...Bring It! (Sorry Bobbi, I love you girl, but its on! ;)

Well, since I've been inundating you all with recipes lately, I thought I would take a slight turn and move on to some product reviews that I have been meaning to get around to.

Over the past few weeks, I've been sampling many new and exciting products and have collected my thoughts and opinions to share with you.

So here we go.

First up, the kind people of NuNaturals contacted me with an opportunity to sample a collection of their Nustevia products. If you haven't already been introduced to the Stevia implementation into today's health world, you have been missing out. Stevia is the latest all natural sweetener and many companies are finding ways to develop this plant into supplement form for our everyday use. NuNaturals claims that their products are 100% natural, gluten free, and DO NOT contain aspartame, saccharin, suraclose, HFCS, sugar or any kind of artificial sweeteners/colors.

My package included Nustevia Sweetener, Stevia Vanilla, Stevia packets, Stevia NOcarbs and Stevia Pure.

I was especially intrigued by the Stevia Vanilla and decided to try this one first.

I used a few drops to enhance the flavor of my homemade apple sauce. I loved how this was in a liquid form which makes the dissolving process incredibly seamless. I was also impressed with the subtle addition that the vanilla provided in the sauce. It was not overpowering but yet just the perfect amount to give my applesauce a hint of something special.

I also tired the Stevia packets as opposed to my usual Truvia packet in my morning coffee. The Stevia is definitely more powdery, which again, dissolved beautifully into a hot beverage. I also did not detect a bit of any aftertaste or anything artificial.

Overall, I am a fan of the NuNaturals products. I'll be interested to see how the baking blend turns out and if I baked, I would probably be using it often; however, this one may be sitting in my cupboard for awhile.

Thanks NuNaturals!

Next, more POM!

I am always excited to try out the new POM products.

This time, it was the POM Kiwi and Nectarine flavors.

LOVE these! POM Wonderful on its own is already wonderful; however, spice it up with some kiwi or a little nectarine and it gets even better. I still feel that the POM juices are a bit pungent on their own, but a little diluting and this makes a killer flavored water or seltzer.

And, look what I FINALLY found!

Yep, it was love at first sight and at first bite. This Pumpkin Pie flavor is truly sensational. And I'm not just saying that because I am slightly pumpkin obsessed (okay, maybe a little) but I couldn't have been more pleased with this yogurt. It's thick, creamy and just sweet enough to taste more like a dessert. I immediately was reminded of a Pumpkin Mousse that I have made in the past, only this yogurt is so much better for you. Stonyfield, I bow to you! Way to produce a fantastic and healthy Pumpkin Pie product for the season!

Last but not least, this one must be hot off the press because I have not seen or heard anything on this one yet. Have you?

Bare Naked makes a granola bar! Did you know about this?

I immediately snatched a few of these from the shelf and opened it right away. I could tell I would love it just by seeing the texture of this bar. I really prefer a chewy dense bar and this one looked perfect through the wrapper.

Without hesitation, I knew which one would be my first to sample. Tropical Fruit is a mixture of Mango, Papaya, Coconut and Pineapple with 220 calories, 7 g of fat, 18 g of sugar, 4 g of Fiber and 3 g of Protein.

Bare Naked makes some tasty granola, but their granola bars are out of this world! I loved the chewy texture and appreciated the crunch from the generous amount of dried fruit and coconut. This bar was awesome; it actually reminded me a lot of a KIND bar in comparison. I can't wait to try my next flavor, Chocolaty Cherry.

And that about wraps up this episode of reviews. I have more to come soon to stay tuned.
