The Last One Before The Big One

It's a beautiful day in the neighborhood. Perfect Saturday- the sun is shining, the birds are chirping and the clouds are puffy. Just splendid.

I can't believe it's already 2:00pm and I feel as though the day just started. Well, I guess I did accomplish quite a heavy task so far....

Let's begin with my 5:30am wake up call. This morning, I was running my last long run before my 1/2 marathon next weekend. I set myself up to do 12 miles and woke up feeling more than ready to tackle this.

The run was beautiful. The air was crisp and cool and the entire time I kept thinking about next weekend and how amazing it is going to be. Around mile 9, I actually got really emotional and started to tear up as I imagined myself crossing the finish line of the race. Haha, I'm such a sap!

Anyways, I finished 12.3 miles in 1:46min!! I really hope I can meet my goal time of 2hrs next weekend, but really, I think finishing is just the real prize for my first one.

After my lengthy run, breakfast was calling...

And I answered with none other than my favorite meal to refuel after long runs....

Oats of course! ;)

This bowl was my favorite. (I know I always say that, but I promise, this time it's for real!)

1/2 Cup Oats, 1/4 Cup Almond Milk, 1/2 Cup water, 1/2 nanner, Flax, almond extract (I think this is what made them so incredible today). Topped with raspberries, raspberry jam, sliced almonds and a just a tiny bit of peach bread.

This bowl came out like cake batter. It was just wonderful!

With some grapefruit slices and coffee. I'm not really sure why, but I really enjoy eating grapefruit after a hard workout. Something about it seems so refreshing and seems to hydrate me.

After breaks, I hit up the farmers market to load up on produce. (We were seriously low it was a little scary. Even Toly noticed last night!) Plus, I had the task to making a fruit salad for our nephews b-day party this afternoon.

I came back successful and worked right away on chopping, dicing and peeling.

A few minutes later, this was created....

One HUMUNGO fruit salad. I tend to go a little wild when it comes to fruit. Hopefully this will all get consumed.
Then, I cleaned. Super woman cleaned, I'm talking.

But the hard work always pays off because there is nothing I love more than a sparkling kitchen....

And an organized fridge full of prepped veggies and fruits....

After all of that, I was famished, actually getting a little shaky from hunger. So, I quickly replenished with some of nature's best medicine....a green monster. This was had spinach, blackberries, 1/2 a peach, 1/2 a nanner, flax, almond milk, chia seeds and a dash of POM juice.
I was hankering for some chewy carbs, so I used the other 1/2 of the peach and placed it on top of a slice of Cin. Bread with almond butter.

I inhaled this.

I didn't want to eat a big lunch because we have a picnic later this afternoon to celebrate our nephew Conner's 2nd Birthday. I can't believe he is 2 already. Where does the time go?

Well everyone, enjoy today and hope you are all having a wonderful start to the weekend.

TTYL!
